Open the door, can I carry that for you, do you want help, among other things. She is petite, and somewhat short, but that has nothing to do with why I do these things.

INSTEAD OF JUST AUTOMATICALLY CARRyING THINGS- ASK HER FIRST IF SHE NEEDS HELP. You gotta let people, even the ones you love- know that you are here to help them, but in order for there to be a balance in the relationship she has to show that she can help YOU when you are in need. ( your don't have to always be the strong courtious one- even without losing your manners). or on the flip side of things- waite until she ask's you for your help- then you will really know she is in need.

Overall do not stop opening the door- that is just a polite person- and that really will not make her any stronger of a person ( maybe physically) . but there maybe times while shopping in a mall and she has a really small or light bag- don't jump to say - I'll help you with that- she is capable of doing that on her own, but if she buys a new t.v set- you don't have to ask- you just help with no questions asked.-

you have to know the time and situations on where and when to help her. she may already be a strong person , but you have to also give her a chance to show that side to you.

If you want to make a woman feel like an equal, you'll do none of those things. She can open her doors and carry her whatevers on her own. I'm petite and short, and I can do all of that. If you're worried about being nice, just listen to her, talk to her, and answer her questions. Be a conversationalist. Without a good rapport, you've got nothing. (And, of course, don't try to take it too far when the relationship is still fresh — unless you both want it.)

Ask her opinion. Listen to what she says. Admire her accomplishments. Acknowlege how she feels.

Get her involved in mud-wrestling - that way, you both win.
