I questioned it because of actual events, I gave it up because of logic and reason, then I adopted Buddhism...

If by actual events you mean difficult or traumatic experiences, then no. I have been through things like that and they never made me question my faith. Personally, I think having a loved one die has no bearing on whether or not god might exist. People die every day from all different kinds of things. Sometimes these losses push people away from god and sometimes they push people even closer and make them more religious.
No, for me it's all about logic and reason. Quite awhile ago, someone else asked a question to nonbelievers, wanting to know why we didn't just become Christian or Muslim or whatever, just to cover all the bases, so that if god does exist then we're not screwed. I replied saying that I couldn't just pretend to believe something that didn't make sense to me. I'm more agnostic than atheist, for the record, but the idea of god doesn't make that much sense to me. I mean, I understand why gods were created, and why people continued to believe -- there are still so many things we can explain, so many things that seem impossible and inconceivable, but just think about how much we do know which used to seem inconceivable in the distant past. For me, the world makes sense as it is, scientifically, psychologically, and sociologically. There is no need to think a god had something to do with all of that.

Issues of logic/reason. It is more trying to understand the meaning of the religious verses rather than questioning the whole faith. I do believe that all faiths are inter-connected and that people are meant by God to come closer by reason of religion, rather than be adversaries.

The first thing that made me question God, was all the evil and sh+t in the world. thats when i was young.
Now, the more i use logic/reason to try and disprove the Bible and study world events, I can't help but believe in God.
Science doesn't disprove anything to me. I know alot of science is biased and flawed anyway. But anything science has come to understand, and prove, is just more evidence that there is a master scientist, and master mathematician behind it all (God)
Ive just come to the understanding that men create there problems, then turn around and blame it on God (Just like i did at one time). but it is all in the Bible.

Actual events....like some of the things that happened in my childhood and things like death and circumstances that seem unfair...like the abuse or the untimely death of children. It wasn't until I accepted that God has given everyone free will that I realized that man can choose to do evil in this life...and hurt others. That is not God's choice, but the man who does the choosing. And children who die at a young age...before they are responsible for their own actions, go at death to be with God...where they are out of the pain and suffering that exists in this world.

Having to ask myself rational questions about my faith and then waking up from a daydream... and searching on the monster you've been following all of your life to blame for far lack of life and bloodshed. and then going to the man who might want to be staring at over you and asking Him to expose Himself to As you've guessed by technique of now... no longer having Him answer it in besides no longer even some dream. this is like being on a telephone and continually speaking and hoping someone is listening.. Your fortunate to hearken to a dry cough if something. Have I gotten by ability of it ? no longer so particular. yet I appreciate the means and secret of this universe sufficient to no longer flow off and badmouth any larger beings that are not bothering me. you do not mess with what you do not comprehend I say.

In my case it is logic reason and good old common sense, I do believe in God from a spiritual perspective, I do not believe he has any thing to do with our physical world, man has not totally let go of his hold from medevil times he is still vary superstitious about a lot of things. man has never invested in truth, but he has invested heavily in speculation interpretation and myth it is what keeps him alive and gives him a purpose, all in all I don't believe man can handle absolute truth.

I would have to say sorrowful events, in particular the suicides of 2 of my brothers. While I know it certainly wasn't God's fault, they CHOSE their fate, it shook me up for a while.
