Good question- Let's go to the bible for the answer (the King James version)--

First Question--We are here to serve and praise the Lord. (look at Psalm 150:6) We will quickly pass from this earth, so we might as well do the best we can while we are here. (James 4:14) God loves us, that's why He put us here. While we are here, we can make a connection with Him, we can have a relationship with our Lord and Savior. He put us here so that we can live by His grace and be winners, not in a competitive sense, but in a sense of making it through a dark and perverse place without likening oursleves to it (Read 1 John 5:4 & Philippians 2:14-5) He put us here so that we could be perfect. (Matthew 5:48) This is possible through praying to God and believing with all our hearts that He will take us from our sinful states and make us perfect and pure. (Proverbs 3 & Psalm 23)

Second Question- when we die, we are basically sleeping. We neither hear nor see what is going on around us. We remain in this state until the Lord returns, then we awake, and the righteous follow Him to Heaven, where we dwell for a millenium. Afterwards, we all descend to earth, and it is restored. (To read all of the Bible texts that tell this, go to this web-site: http://preparingforeternity.com/br/brcontents.htm
and read Chapters 61-66.)

God bless you, I will pray that you come to fully understand exactly what the meaning of life is and what happens when a person dies. Take care.

We evolve.....if there is such a thing as reincarnation, our spirit comes back in someone else. The rather archaic heaven and hell concept is kind of ridiculous if you think about it - after all these years, they would both be so overcrowded its ridiculous. Whatever happens, it seems to make sense that we learn from our mistakes and get to try again until we get it right.

I can't begin to tell you where I heard or read this, but I kind of like the idea: with all the billions of galaxies and quadrillions of stars, there are surely other planets in the universe. Maybe our spirit/essence/whatever comes back in another galaxy as who we are here and we get to do it all over again, correcting the mistakes we made the first time. Great idea, huh?

So surely, we aren't here for just nothing, die, and that's it. There has to be more. Personally, I hope its that we come back elsewhere and do it all over again as who we are now.

When you die, all your good deeds that you have done in your life are added up. If the number of good deeds is greater then your bad deeds, then you go to heaven. If the number of good deeds is less then your bad deeds then you go to hell. If the numbers are even, then you are sent back to Earth as a ghost in order to right your wrongs, or wrong your rights. For those who don't have a religion, when you die, you simply enter a dream that you cannot escape/wake out of.

We are here because God created Adam and Eve back in the Garden of Eden. After He created them, He wanted to create other people who would decide for their ownselves whether or not to be a follower of Jesus. After we die, if we have chosen to be a follower of Him, we appear to him in Heaven and He decides whether or not we belong in either Heaven, or in Hell. After we die, if we go to Heaven, we then live in peace, free from pain and agony like on Earth. Dying is one of the best things that happens to us, if we arrive in Heaven, because it gives us the chance to appear before the Heavenly Father, which is a HUGE pleasure in it's own right. For anybody who believes in Jesus Christ as Our Creator, you await dying as it then allows you to visit Him, the greatest honour there is.

I think it most likely that we are all here because we agreed to incarnate into a physical body here on earth. When our physical body dies, and is no longer inhabitable, we shall return to our astral home planet. Most of us chose to come here because the experience of enduring physical hardships, difficulties, trials, and tribulations is the fastest way to grow and mature spiritually.

We are here simply because god chose us to be here, when we die we will be in our grave until they day of judgement, in the grave we will be tortured if we were sinful in life, and if we were good, then we will have a great time waiting for the day of judgement when it will be decided who burns in hell forever and who goes to heaven.
