i took my dog to the vets today he had a tumor on his liver and unfortunatley i had him put to sleep and would like to thank everyone who sent poems and advice it has given me and my three children so much comfort to know we are not alone words can explaine or thanks xxx

My heart goes out to you. You did a very brave thing and you and your beloved dog are the better for it. Several years ago our adored and only child Barkley a 125lb dobie/rott was diagnosed with lymphoma and we spent $6,000 in 6 months as we watched him slowly die. He had 3 doctors, one that only treated humans but was willing to take a chance. We did injections of homeopathic medicines around the clock, radiation, you name it, if there was a ray of hope we did it. He died in our arms around midnight one night about 10 years ago and we are still not over it. We have overcompensated by having 4 dogs who now share our hearts and our bed, all rescues.I wish you comfort and hope you do the same in his name.

im so sorry to hear of your loss, my puppy died about 3 weeks ago, he was only 11 weeks old, it was a heart condition, it was really hard, but I made a little scrap book page for him and it made me feel a ton better. Just take comfort in how he was happy he found his way into your family.

Ignor Lola C's answer. She's not a very caring person. Most of us know how hard it is to lose a pet, and even those who don't should not be so unkind. I am sorry for your loss.

it's not just a pet
i know it was a part of your family and it feels so bad in side.
this will start to pass soon and then maybe a new life can come home to live with you.
