A dog does not menstruate. They have a heat cycle. The biological processes are completely different.
Expect to confine her 2-3 weeks to be on the safe side and avoid accidental pregnancies.

Generally about two and a half weeks - like all other organisms it depends on the individual. If you are wanting to breed your female dog wait until the second week of menstruation when she is most fertile.

I just adopted this little sweetie from a friend she is almost 10 months and I noticed her doing a lot of licking and now I see spots of blood how long will it last? I will be getting her spayed soon I have only had her a week, and I don't want it all over the house what should I do? should I put a diaper on her?

It all depends on the dog. Generally speaking they will stay in for 10-14 days. Those can be long days for us humans. Especially if you have 2 of them in heat at the same time. What a mess!

Every dog is different. About 14 days but the bleeding can last longer though by the end it is a yellowy colour. My girl bleeds about 3 weeks

my little girl only had it for about 5 days.and then she stopped.
