She may have worn a scarf or veil because it was the custom of her day...and of her culture. That would not mean that modern day Christian women would need to do the same thing.

Mary, the mother of Jesus, likely wore a headscarf as was the custom of Jewish women 2,000 years ago. Some Jewish women still wear a headscarf to cover their hair. Some Christian women also wear a headscarf to cover their hair. It is the choice that those women make to do so. It is not mandatory that they cover their hair for religious purposes, it is neither prohibited.
To say that Christian women 2,000 years ago covered their hair and therefore that Christian women today ought to do so is non sequitur logic.
If a woman wants to cover her hair she may do so. If she chooses not to cover her hair she may do so. A person's belief depends on their heart and mind. A Christian woman will have the fruit of the spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, gentleness, meekness, temperance, mercy and faith.

Mary also got her water from the town well. Does that mean we should do the same? It was the custom of the time. All Jewish women dressed that way. Styles change. Not always for the better, but they change nevertheless. Why don't the Christian men of today dress like Jesus and His Apostles? Same reason.

We call her the Blessed Virgin Mary. Yes she wears a scarf-veil head covering. In some visions she is wearing a crown too. In most visions though--her hair is seen even though she wears a veil.

jesus the divine not simply prophet. the bible doesn't say what she wore but it would be likey she did wear scarf/veil. we are not jewish we are christian, we live in different times. men don't walk around waering clothing like jesus. some do in certain cultures but that does not bind other people to that attire.

They do not want to cover up. It is their choice, as much as it is our choice to cover up. Why don't they stop commenting about our way of dressing? If Our Lady (I respect Mary very much) is always pictured with a head cover, it is fine, but when Muslim women do it, they are behind time...
Muslims seem to be always the wrong doers on earth.
I am happy with Islam inspite of it all.

Always she was a proper Jewish woman and would not be seen without her head covered. And there are still some of us that do cover.
