I am placing several links for online sites that help you search for scholarships and their requirements...
In addition to those sites, I would like to STRONGLY recommend that you enlist the help of a friend or loved one to watch your little one(s) while you go to your local library and use their latest scholarship publication to look for money THAT way as well. The book is about 2 inches thick and has everything under the sun listed. These types of books are usually kept in the reference section, so you can't check it out... but that means you'll have a better chance of being able to actually find it in the first place.
Lastly, I would strongly recommend that you talk with your employer (or your HR department) to find out if they have tuition reimbursement or assistance. If you have a blue collar job or have a job that isn't career related, I'd like to recommend considering changing jobs in order to GET tuition reimbursement and/or the flexible schedule you might need in order to earn your particular degree. For example: When I first went back to school, I declared a business major, which was a program my particular school offered in the evenings.... so I kept my day job and went to school at night. A year later, when I discovered they had a design program, I decided to change majors, but they only offered those classes during the day. I quit my job and applied for, dare I say it?, Starbucks. Starbucks gave me healthcare coverage as long as I worked at least 20 hours a week, they worked with my student schedule AND they offer tuition reimbursement.
Am I saying you should run off and get a job with Starbucks? Not necessarily, but if you find you're going to be looking for another job to cater to your schooling needs, tuition reimbursement can be another means to earn the funding you're looking for.
ALSO - inquire of the school you are planning on attending. You never know: they may have a previous grad who is now very successful who has set up a Single Mom's scholarship at your school. Doesn't hurt to ask.
Lastly, consider the fact that this year's scholarships have probably all been issued for the Fall '06/Spring '07 school year. Most scholarship applications will probably have December or March deadlines... for NEXT YEAR'S school year. Hopefully, that will work out for you....
I applaud your endeavor and wish you all my luck, support and encouragement. There were times I wondered why on earth I'd quit my job to go back to school. And when I walked up on that stage and FINALLY got my diploma? I cried. I cried in relief and gratitude. But mostly I cried out of self-accomplishment. It will be a great day. Best of luck to you.

Just look around on the internet. You'd be suprised how many businesses out there will give you money for college. And the good thing is, is that whatever you don't use for college you get to keep. I don't know why more people don't find businesses to help them out--it's a smart way to go :-) Good luck and God bless.

First let me say - THAT"S AWESOME! Good for you for planning to go back to school. It's so hard to do when you have a child but it's so beneficial.
I would contact the local colleges/schools in your area as well as social assistance. There are many options for a single parent to utilize.

Go to this site, fill out their questionnaire, and they'll send you scholarship applications based on your profile.

Then go here and fill out a financial aid application. The government will provide aid to people based on their income and need levels.
Also, go to the school you're applying to and speak with their financial aid counselor. They might have their own grants and scholarships to give out to incoming students as well.
