How would we know this was the truth? How would someone who loves God and teaches the truth be known?
Would he be this person that you would recognize?

John 7:17 says "If any man will do His will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God." John 8:32 says "And ye SHALL know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
We need to want to do God's will and ask for the help of the Holy Spirit to know truth. John 16:13,14 says that the Spirit will guide us into all truth.

First off, it cannot be a person, but a group. If an individual says he or she is an authority over everyone else, than you need to question. When millions of people, from all over the planet, speaking 256 difference languages, are telling you the same thing, than you have to wonder why not?
When you have an individual saying that is okay to sin, as everyone is forgiven, you need to question. When millions of people, from all over the planet, speaking 256 difference languages, are telling you that you should be always striving to do God's will and to always avoid sin, than you have to wonder why not?
When you have an individual telling you that you need to go to only their church, but not another one of the same religion in the same city, then you need to question. When millions of people, from all over the planet, speaking 256 difference languages, are telling you that you can go to any one of their churches or congregations, in you city, state, country, or another country, than you have to wonder why not?

You must read the bible for yourself, pray about knowledge (because god did say, to ask, and it would be given) and I believe myself, get baptized to be filled with the holy spirit, so he can fill you with understanding. To know if someone is lieing, you have to know the bible yourself. God says, to test the spirits.

God says to test every spirit,,If you have doubt then pray and ask the Lord to reveal to you the things hidden..One thing I know is He loves to tell you the hidden things of the bible..We are to study His word(bible)..

You need to read the bible, if what people are telling you lines up with what the bible is saying then it is the truth.
The bible is the absoule truth.
