i want to dye my hair a chesnutty brown with redish highlights but have fairly pale skin and green eyes my ace is quite squared

If that's what you want then go for it. I don't think that it will wash you out, but your green eyes will definatly pop! I'm fair skinned and I dyed my hair BLACK, everyone thought it would be a bad idea since I'm so pale, but everyone loves it, and my blue eyes definatly stand out more. If your worried about going to dark, then take it a shade or two lighter than what you're thinking. That way you can see if you like it and if you decide you don't it will be easier to get out of your hair and less damage than trying to change it when it's too dark.

I agree with them. Don't go too dark or unnatural but the combination of auburn hair with green eyes and pale skin sounds lovely.

Sounds a great combination, I've been every colour under the sun but have finally chosen a nice mid reddy brown and stuck with it - I have very fair skin and every one has been telling me that it gives me warmth.
Go for it!

Sounds good, go for it. A change is as good as a rest so they say.
But if you are unsure get a semi-permenant dye to start with, then if you don't like it, it'll wash out in 6 - 8 washes.

my friend is quite pale and this week went to a dark brown, it looks great.
but i love a touch of red... especially with green eyes. go for it!

I think it would suit you. With your skin and eye colours, chesnut with red highlights would give you a very celtic/irish look.
Just don't go too dark.
