When things are going well in a person's life they see no reason to pray. When things are going well and they are in control. When things are not going well they dont feel like they are in control; they are frightened and confused, so they pray. Once things are going well again they go back to ignoring God.

Too many people do this.

Who put that desire there? Death is undesirable, or at least incomprehensible and feared. Lets invent a system to ease the passing, and remove the unknown, to make death more acceptable. What shall we do? Tell everyone it is "not the end, but the beginning", tell them "some holy man has done it all before". Still don`t believe me? Then read this book of charms and spells and miracles, and magic words, all of it true and inspired by an invisible, omnipotent, supernatural being who keeps a place , just for you!. Boy! Now they listen, everybody wants some! Pass the plate, and get back on your knees!

Humans are the only creatures on earth with the desire and capacity to worship god, as Jesus said in Matthew 5:3 'happy are those conscious of their spiritual need', this is because god created us with this need, whether we like it or not we can only be truly happy when it is satisfied properly.

We are arrogant. When we are in control, we think we can handle things ourselves. We only remeber Allah when the danger is beyond us. When it is over and everything is back to normal, our ego grows again.

May Allah give us the faith to remember Him all the time.
