Sorry to hear about your pup's death...how awful.
The answer I have is probably not - ask the vet if the vial the Lyme vaccine came from was a 1cc dose, and ask if they gave that (it doesn't matter what weight dog you have, 1cc is good for all) If your dog had a reaction, it would have been within an hour of the vaccine, and you probably would have seen hives and swelling around the face, which the vet would be able to stop with antihistamines. It sounds like either you never noticed the hives/swelling and the dog died from asphyxiation while sleeping, or there was some other root cause of death, in either case, it would be a good idea to have the dog autopsied to get a definitive cause of death.

They are NOT given based on weight. Just like ALL vaccines, they it is ONE does for all!!!!!!! The vet would have to be the most TOTAL MORON to give the WRONG dose of vaccine!!!!!!!
Personally, I have NEVER been a fan of the Lyme vaccine, or any vaccines made by Fort Dodge. I was a Tech in CT when it was introduced and there were problems galore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The least of which was the fact that after getting the vaccine the dog always tested positive on the Lyme titre, so it was difficult to tell when they had the disease....and many still seemed to have it even though they were vaccinated.
I would rather treat Lyme disease in my dog and prevent ticks as best as I can.

I'm so sorry to hear about that.
Do NOT get yourself or your dog vaccinated.
A vaccinated dog or person is MORE likely to get a disease than a non-vaccinated dog or person. The whole theory of vaccination is flawed. It causes a weakening of the immune system thus making those who are innoculated more susceptible to disease.
There are so many awful side effects to vaccination that it should be considered extremely dangerous.
Just sit back and think for a while.
Is there any sense in injecting a disease directly into your body.
We have been subjected to an awful mind control program to enable the drug manufacturers to make a fortune.

There have been so many bad, really serious reactions to the lyme vaccine that some vet schools do not recomend giving it even in a Lyme endemic area.

Not likely, the vaccine comes in a small vial and is for any size dog. It could have possibly had a severe reaction to the vaccine and thats what may have caused it to die. If it was acting lethargic or anything like that before it went to sleep it it probably had a vaccine reaction.
