Take her with you.
I take my 1.5 year old with me, I get her to lead me to the bathroom by asking her where is and she is quite happy to do so. Then, to keep her occupied, I ask her to point to the bath, the sink, the towel, the cupboard etc, then repeat the list until I am finished.
That way, I know she is safe, and I get to go to the loo not worrying about her.

I think what your asking is how can you be sure the girl is safe while you go to the bathroom? Are you in a public place where you are afraid she can be taken by a stranger? If so bring her into the bathroom with you and use the handicap stall, its bigger and can fit you both. If your at home or something like that and you are by yourself put her in a car seat, playpen, stroller, or crib while your in the bathroom. If someone is there with you have them keep an eye on her. Good luck.

Before my son could walk and talk, if I needed to do something I would just tell him one minute I'll be right back and I would hold my finger up so he understood. No problem.

Now if shes walking, you've got to make sure that the house is childproof and let her follow you in there. She's gotta learn too right.

Put her in her playpen or her crib...or an exersaucer/bouncy seat. Anplace she can't get out of by herself, but also fun at the same time. Put some toys in the playpen or on the tray of the bouncy seat to keep her occupied. :)

Leave the door open. You should still be able to hear her talking/playing. Most kids follow you in there too.

I leave the door open, and let them come in with me if they choose. Sometimes I even hold the baby on my lap. I don't think it's wierd!

Just make sure they are in a room that you can see from the bathroom.
