Because those are the types that do not want to face the POSSIBILITY that their choice is wrong and the alternative choice is the right one. So "Off Wizz ze Heads of the unbelievers!!"
Imagine if they are in error, its not the non-believers that are gonna go to eternal darkness but them...

Basically two of the youngest major religions with roots in the middle east - Christianity and Islam, these are the ones that insist on conversion to their faith. These are the religions that practice/practiced religious intolerance. They have yet to mature.
To become a Jew a couple of thousand years ago, one had to be a seventh generation slave to a Jewish family. You are born a Hindu, it's not a religion, but a way of life. You cannot become a Parsi (Zoroastrian) easily.
These are the two religions that have used force and coercion to gather more followers right from the time they were started. If people did not follow these religions they were tortured, murdered - Check the Inquisition history.
You find very few similar instances happening with other religions.

I dont, I respect people of all faiths. No religion is the ultimate religion, they all have their good and they all have their faults. Thats the sad thing about being human, we are far from perfect. People that atleast search for more no matter what religion are much more open minded and better for this search of wisdom. Those who simply dismiss the thought of God because of the evidence of evolution are the truley the close minded ones. Who says evolution isn't God and God isn't evolution? You base your beliefs on science yet the science you embrace breaks down when you say it evolves from nothing, what in this scientific universe ever evolves from nothing? No infinite values and everything has a cause and effect, yet the core belief is we evolved from nothing? Doesn't this contradict your belief in science?

People are animals and act in animal behaviors, although they don't want to acknowledge it. Religion is one of many tools used by groups of people to try to dominate other groups of people. In tribal cultures, you can be an outcast if you don't have tribal markings like tattoos. It can be the color of your skin, your religion, your language, the food you eat or any thing else that makes you different from the ruling class in that area/time period.
It's not just religion. It's hierarchical dominance behavior, not dissimilar from packs of wolves, flocks of chickens or any other beings in the natural world.

Because religious tolerance is not something that people like to practice.
And whomever the Christians are that Marcus O is talking about are giving the rest of us (Christians) a bad name because I don't want to get rid of any group.

I don't but I guess it might be because people in certain religions think that they are in the RIGHT religion.
Example:
Jehovah Witness and Mormonism. Religions like these are what I like to call "Shake & Bake" religions. I wouldnt mind getting rid of these religions because there is something about them that does not ring true to me in my heart. They seem fake and empty.
I wouldnt want to kill them if that's what you mean. I rather they just go and ring soimeone else's doorbell instead of mine.

actually I'm not sure if it's about beliefs. if you ever look at two bunches of people that really hate each other, they are usually wearing different types of hats. I'm keeping an eye on this. Might be important.

Not true.
I want to see Muslims and non Muslims living in peace and harmony.
What you see is fighting against each other for political reasons. They just paint it with religion to gather the simple faithful guys in their sides.

What Christian wants to get rid of anyone? As it is written, "The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. "
Jesus came to save all...not to destroy any.

It has been that way thru time. I don't understand either, I couldn't care less who or what someone else worships as long as they don't bother me about mine. I think the answer to that is is people do not know how to mind their own business.
