My son is on 750 mg. of Depakote and had the same problem. We went to a dermatologist and she wants to put him on something to stop it. However I do not want his liver put through any more unnecessary harm at this point. She told us that if it continues we should consult our neuro. about the dose. I am just glad he has alot of hair and its not noticeable at this point.

I would seriously consult with a dermatologist and your neuro. to see what might be able to do to rectify the situation.

Best of luck I know this is a hard issue to deal with

you can look around a little at these links if you'd like. They say seizure drugs also lower biotin levels. I wonder if thats true?

i was not aware that hair loss was a reported side effect from neurontin intake. you may want to verify that this is the source of your hair loss.

i found this in regard to side effects:

Gabapentin's most common side effects in adult patients include dizziness, drowsiness, and peripheral edema (swelling of extremities)[9] Children 3-12 years of age were also observed to be susceptible to mild-to-moderate mood swings, hostility, concentration problems, and hyperactivity. An increase in formation of adenocarcinomas was observed in rats during preclinical trials, however the clinical significance of these results remains undetermined.
