Actually according to the bible it is both. Our spirts go to meet with the Lord, for to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

Our bodies "sleep" until the rapture"caught up in the clouds". It is then that we who are "dead" in Christ awake first and receive our glorified bodies, and then those that are awake and remain are also caught up in the clouds and receive their glorified bodies.

Hope this helps a bit.

Both. (BIG SMILE) I'm thinking that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, but after a life of living on earth, you gotta take a rest. So we get to heaven, get a good night sleep and then go on the next morning with heavenly things. (Smile)

As a Muslim, I absolutely believe that after death man is asked about his God, his religion, and his prophet.
After this he lives another life till the Judgment Day, this life is either Heaven-like or Hell-like life according to his deeds in life.
Then he goes either to Heaven or to Hell also according to his deeds in life.
