Since the first eid was celebrated by the prophet, it was determined by the moon . It dosen't work locally or by following Saudia Arabia but by following where the new moon is sighted and from there ppl should celebrate eid all around da world. For example this year it was just seen on friday in Iowa in the states, so Eid should be celebrated by muslims all around the world on Saturday. Not sunday , monday, tuesday , or wednesday. Because of the different backround muslims around the world beleive in different things. I live in Toronto and it's a good thing I didin't fast 2daii cause 2daii waz eid. I f you want to noe more go visit this site http://www.madania.org/english/articles/pdf/fiqh/moonsighting.pdfit got rid of A LOT of my CONFUSION about this stuff. Remember muslims should be united n stuff and thats what the prophet wanted and wants. i hope dis info helped jus go 2 da site n read da stuff or dis site . Dun jus luk up on da internet or ask da mosques but try findin da moon on ur own by binaculars ..lol.. i noe ppl use 2 do tht years agoo buh it's worth it instead of gettin stuck in deez contradictory eid stuff n if sum1 saw da moon already then celebrate eid da nexx daii. i hope dis helped u.

you'll find out the night before. I don't know how, but the Islamic Society of North America confirmed Eid to be on Monday.... last Friday. I don't know when we are going to celebrate Eid, but I'm excited nonetheless. =)
Eid Mubarak!
