Of course you can reheat kidney beans just like you can any other bean. Usually it's a good idea to stir in a little water as you slowly reheat them so they don't burn on the bottom of the pot or pan, and stir them frequently as they warm up. Actually, all my family likes 'em better the second time around - they're more flavorful that way. I'll do up five quarts of beans at a time in my cast iron pot and we'll have beans just about every other day for a week. Love 'em, especially with fresh hot cornbread and bacon in the beans!

Are you confused by the fact that red kidney beans should be cooked at high temperature from dry? This is because they contain a poisonous substance which disappears in the boiling process. One should never cook them from dry in a slow cooker with other ingredients as the whole dish will be contaminated.
Once the beans have been boiled till they are soft, you can reheat them whichever way.

yes, you can reheat kidney beans. think about it for a minute. if they could not be reheated, they could not be sold in cans, since they are cooked before being canned. i put them in my chili all the time, and we are all just fine.

Tinned kidney beans have been cooked then cooled, we then re-heat them.
When you cook chili with kidney beans then use the left overs another day, you reheat them.
So I would say yes.

What myth? I've never heard that you're not supposed to. I always reheat chilli etc. Also, supermarkets sell chilled/frozen meals (chilli con carne) containing kidney beans. I think you've dreamt that one!
