Judging (Matthew 7:1) is often misquoted by those who are not open-minded to God's Word. A careful examination of the context of the Scriptures shows that judging (discerning) is demanded.John 7:24 "Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment."
it is a particluar kind of "judging" that Christ is saying we are not to engage in, Jesus is condeming the attitude that is manifested in trying to straighten out faults in another's life without first seeking to remove those in our own.

because there are a lot of idoitic responses to legitimate question by so called atheists who think they are better because they philosophically denounce the existence of god, my guess truly howevver is that 95% percent of people who claim atheist are so for the exact same reason that 95% of people are theistic and the answer is they accept what is told them. they don't figure it out for themselves, prove that god exists oh what you can't then I am atheist. Oh my dad told me god exists I a theist.
I bet the guy above me doesn't even know what the word hypocritcal means outside of what his daddy told him, I am beginning to understand how it is that bush won his second term
and would someone please tell larry s to stop including so much damn scripture, be concise if you are going to use it nobody is going to read all that

Because people judge according to the appearence and not the heart,
John 7:24
Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

Those who come from very judgmental groups tend to mirror their church's doctrine and condemn those who deviate from those standards. Other Christians whose sect is focused more on God's love and less on His wrath tend to be more compassionate and forgiving.

Because we are all human and and we all sin if we want to or not. It is very hard not to judge someone else. Sometime I think it might be that we see a part of ourselves in the person we are judging that we don't want to see.
We all need God's help to change what comes natuarly to our human nature

Unfortunately, too few followers of any religion carefully follow the basic ethical teachings.
They allow their minds to convince them that this case is an exception to the rule, but
"Judge not, unless ye be judged and found wanting" does not allow for any exceptions.

You are confused and twisting the truth.
We are not to judge the hearts of others.
We are to judge actions (ie. The Ten Commandments)!
This is the difference. To not judge actions, is to imply there are no sins. Not true. There are sinful actions.
Forgiveness can be given, but the individual must acknowledge their sinful actions.

Do you know that the Bible says, that The SAINTS shall Judge the world & we shall also Judge angels. You can find that in 1st Corinthians 6:1-5, & also it tells us that we are to Try the spirits to see if they are of God.

I think it's the way they are taught. Some teachings are just like that, and it's up to each person to think for themselves and to remember the overall point of being Christian. Christian means "Christ Like," and a lot of the messages they get are anything but Christ like.
