Halloween Costumes?

I need 2 costume ideas,
One for a 14 year old girl and 1 for a 12 year old boy, they are both going to a school dance so I need somthing pretty for the girl,and somthing that wont get in the way for the boy.

For girls, I like the 50's costumes with the pretty blouses and poodle skirts. Not sure about the boy costume.

Hmmmm... in a way, it's hard to say because their personality could dramatically affect what they'd WANT to wear. So, in that case, here's my brainstorm:


For her: genie, gypsie, disco diva (which I bet you find some GREAT stuff for cheap at your local goodwill), Queen of the Faeries from "Midsummer Night's Dream" (check out the movie and catch that BEAUTIFUL outfit she's wearing. I used an old modified bridesmaid dress one year to pull THAT one off. An old promdress could probably work just as well.....), Corpse Bride.

For him: Captain Jack Sparrow (Pirates of the Caribbean), Ninja, Firefighter, disco king (like John Travolta), 50's rebel like James Dean.

Maybe not very original, but figured the more ideas you get, the more likely you'll find ones your kids will agree upon.
