war is just in the eyes of God when it is necessary that a nation of just laws defends itself.

I don't believe God does sanction war. It is man using God as an excuse for what he does. If God did sanction war, he would be confused because there are so many sides fighting in the name of God, all claiming they are following His teachings. That would be a terrible God pitting all these various groups against one another.

It is true that in many cases God uses one nation to judge another nation by war. I'm not sure exactly what you mean by He "sanctions" it. God doesn't want people to kill other people but when they refuse to turn from their evil ways He will often use a nation as his instrument of judgment. That doesn't mean that every war that starts is God judging someone. We know that many wars start because of greed. But even then, just as God used pagan and sinful nations to judge his own people when Assyria and Babylon invaded the Jewish nations of Judah and Israel, it could very well be that He does that in wars that seem to be motivated by greed and imperialism.

Well if a god was real then he/she/it would have had to create the concept for it to exist right? So I guess so then... And makes people have war, and chooses who dies in it, etc...
