I have a good remedy to fight it and prevent.
Shave with a clean razor. Use hair conditioner AND shaving cream on the area; this moisturizes it better. Afterwards, pat shaved area down and run stick deodorant over the area, then 1% hydrocortisone cream. Works for me, and it used to be a big problem.

I use a clean SHARP razor and if the weather is hot, I use cold water, if the weather is cold, then its hot water. I also find shaving in the shower to produce the best shave, both close and smooth. This is of course assuming you are talking about the male beard. LOL

Hydrocortisone cream. it's pretty cheap, and it constricts the blood vessels so less blood flows to the area, resulting in less irritation. try it out! Check out the webpage for more information.
