eight hours of sleep is important because it allows ur mind to get away from hectic life and allows ur muscles 2 b at ease. plus your body begins to cleanse itself and gather protiens for the next day. it is better if u get more like 9 hrs for extra energy possibly 10 and ur good.

Not everyone needs 8 hours but there is a certain amount of hours, typically 8 but 10 for some less than 6 for others and that optimize the person's ability to act cognitively during the day when they are awake.

For every thing in your body, 8 hrs of sleep is good. During sleep your system does its repair work. Muscles, nerves etc. Recently I fought cancer & won. I read about this thing & my Oncologist told me one of the biggiest keys to recovery & preventing the cancer from reoccurring was sleep. I feel great but still I am very committed to getting a good nights sleep. I wonder now, If sleep can help the recovery so much, could the lack of sleep leave your body vulnerable to such diseases. Something to think about.
