I know that pets can be but wasn't sure about humans or if there was anybody out there that had experienced this.

Quite a few people have allergies to cedar specifically commenting near Austin which has a high rate of cedar. Cedar can cause breathing problems, chemicall sensitivities, be sprayed with pesticides and fungicides which cause problems. You should try a more natural wood shaving or chip where you can better control its location and see if the animal/human is bothered by the new product. People have to care for these animals after all.

I am highly allergic to cedar and other sap oozing trees. My ex husband almost killed me by smoking a turkey with sap wood. I love the smell of cedar, but steer clear of contact!!! Great question! Nana
