If they say no, you lost, all you can do is ask, don't argue...

I would not argue with your parents because that only leads to them becoming angry. I would suggest, that you have some pointers as to why contacts are better. I have contacts so I can give you some info.
- they are not noticable when wearing them, you do not have to worry about them breaking (unless you get the soft kind), they are easier to take care of (just put in solution over night), many people have them.
Here are the downfalls to having them: they are more expensive than glasses, they can rip (if you have the soft kind), you have to change them every 2wks or so, and they are very small (can be lost if they happen to fall out of your eye because its dry.
Maybe you should also ask your optomitrist, he would be able to recommend what is best for you. He could also explain to your parents what the difference is between contacts and glasses.
I wear both, contacts during the day, glasses at night before bed.
I hope this helps and hopefully your parents will be able to understand your reasons. If they do say no again, I would not bring it up for awhile, only because they will make them upset.

I think he's worried about being humiliated at his reception because he feels he isn't a good dancer and all eyes are on the two of you right then. See if he would be willing to take a couple of private dance lessons with you. Local teachers are more than willing to teach a bridal couple a simple but choreographed dance, a few simple waltz steps or foxtrot as someone mentioned. And you practice together home, in private. My husband doesn't like to dance either, but we took a 6 week course on the rhumba and cha-cha (although not for our wedding, this was much later on). Although dancing will never be his favorite activity, he learned a few steps that he's comfortabl he with and will still do a simple box step (as in the rhumba) when we're out dancing. It makes us look as though we know *some* kind of dance rather than the Jr High version of circle sways. Compromise is what it's all about, on both sides.

Tell them of your desire to wear contacts giving valid reasons other than apearance based reasons. Contacts make sports easier and more comfortable, wearing sunglasses in the summer, etc...
It may help as well to offer to work for them. Ask your parents for a list of chores to do to earn them. Your parents may see that you are serious and are willing to take the responsibility to pay for them on your own.

Write them a long letter stating all your true feelings with no begging or demanding. Get a job to pay for or help pay for them. Get pamphlets on contacts from your eye doc to show them. It is easier to do sports like swimming etc. Don't use your bro for an excuse though. Good luck!!

The way to win your parents over in this situation would be to get them to 'understand' your situation. don't fire in all guns blazing demanding! Mention that you are unhappy with the whole glasses thing, give them reasons (you should know why) Mention your brothers case. If you are understanding and calm-most often you will get the same back!
If they ignore you be patient. try again in a while and mention that you are still unhappy!

It does sound like you have a good case. Tell your parents about how your brother started wearing them and ask them what makes YOU any less of who HE was at your age. You might also want to mention girls; that may get them.
Best of luck!

the simplest thing to do is just tell them that if they dont let you get contact lenses then that means that they are very sexist and that they can burn in hell. and if they say that the cost is too high, then tell them that if they can buy you glasses then they can buy you contacts

If they let your brother have them at your age then they`ll probably let you too if you talk to them. What did he say to persuade them? Tell them how much this bothers you. Good luck!
