If someone "mucks" their hand after you call the hand and you show your cards. In other words, you flip your cards over and you have the winning hand and he "mucks" his hand without showing you what he had. Can you ask the dealer to flip over his cards? Or once that person "mucks" the card, you can not see what that person was playing?

If you've paid to see his cards by calling then you can ask the dealer to show them to you. Even if the player has turned his cards over and folded. But if the dealer has already mucked the cards with the rest of the deck. There's nothing you can do. Trust me I played 5 days a week for three years at the casino.

Yes you can see any players cards that is involved in the hand and has called the last bet. Yes you can ask the dealer to do so. If he folds at the show down without calling the last bet then he can muck without showing.

I think where you went wrong here was after calling his bet, then you showed your hand FIRST. When you called him, HE was supposed to then show his cards. If he didnt show you and mucked, then you win, and you could of actually mucked your hand too. But you are right, you did pay to see his hand, but after you prematurely showed the winning hand, why should he have shown you a loser? Be patient, and just like during the game, let him go when it's his turn. It was his turn to show a winner, and you skipped over him and showed YOUR hand instead of him showing.

if you want to see the hand after it has been turned face down, you must tell the dealer before he puts them in the muck, then the hand becomes alive again if its heads up. BUT why would you want to see a losing hand?

Probably best to let sleeping dogs lie. It's a moot point. Most people consider the question rude. He's mucked, you win. Get on with the next hand.

If you pay, you can ask the dealer to see the cards, but like the previous person said, it's considered bad form. I have asked to see cards before though. It's your right.

if the cards have touched the other cards in the muck pile then the cards are dead and you are not permitted to turn them over.

After the last bet is made the player who made the last raise is the first person to show their cards.

If you called the other player's bet, you should wait for the other player to show his/her cards before you show yours.

If someone is making a bluff at you and you call their bluff you want them to show their hand. If they know that you will make them show their rags, they may be less likely to bluff at you again.
