Without the proper attitude, a Christian could easily lose his joy, and that would be serious because, as Nehemiah said: “The joy of Jehovah is our stronghold.” (Nehemiah 8:10.) A positive, joyful attitude helps to keep us strong and promotes peace and unity in the congregation.—Romans 15:13; Philippians 1:25 -
3 Despite living in difficult times, Jeremiah displayed a positive attitude. Even when he witnessed the horrors of Jerusalem’s fall in 607 B.C.E., he could see positive things. Jehovah would not forget Israel, and the nation would survive. Jeremiah wrote in the book of Lamentations: “It is the acts of loving-kindness of Jehovah that we have not come to our finish, because his mercies will certainly not come to an end. They are new each morning. Your faithfulness is abundant.” (Lamentations 3:22, 23.)
A positive attitude can help preserve our joy, but it is not the solution to everything. In the early 1950’s, an American clergyman published a best-selling book called "The Power of Positive Thinking." The book suggested that most obstacles can be overcome if they are approached with a positive attitude. Positive thinking is certainly admirable. But experience shows that knowledge, skill, material means, and a host of other factors restrict what we as individuals can accomplish. And on a world scale, the problems are simply too large for humans to solve successfully—however positive their thinking!
Solomon knew that waiting can be frustrating. He wrote: “Expectation postponed is making the heart sick.” (Proverbs 13:12) Certainly, if a person is entertaining unfounded expectations, the heart can be sickened by disappointment. However, waiting for happy events—perhaps a wedding, the birth of a child, or a reunion with people we love—can fill us with anticipatory joy long before the day of fulfillment. That joy is intensified if we use the waiting time wisely, making preparations for the coming event.
When we have complete confidence that our expectations will be fulfilled—even if we do not know when they will be fulfilled—the waiting period does not have to ‘make the heart sick.’ We can be sure we will see the end of death and disease. With eager anticipation we joyfully await the time when they will welcome back billions from the dead, including their dead loved ones. (Revelation 20:1-3, 6; 21:3, 4) In these times of ecological crisis, they relish the certain prospect of seeing Paradise established on earth. (Isaiah 35:1, 2, 7) How wise, then, to use the waiting time judiciously, “always having plenty to do in the work of the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 15:58.) Keep on taking in spiritual food. Build an ever closer relationship with Jehovah. Seek out others whose hearts move them to serve Jehovah. Encourage fellow believers. Take the fullest advantage of whatever time Jehovah will yet allow. Then, waiting on Jehovah will never make you ‘sick at heart.’ Instead, it will fill you with joy! :-)

Well, I always think that a good way of being more positive is believing in God and taking things as they are. Not worshiping Jesus, or whatever. God. Thanking God for what you have. Being patient with what you do and do not have.
When you really reach out to the universe it really does change you as a person. Especially when it's from the heart.
I became epileptic over the last two years, and I am TOTALLY cool with it. No matter how much of my energy the fits take (and not to mention short term memory. lol), I always stay happy because I am grateful for it. It's not a "burden" or "hardship" or anything "negative".
A good way of always staying positive is feeling happy about yourself. And most people find that they feel happier about themselves when they are spiritual and reach out. I am a far better person that I've ever been since I started praying every day.
Now I'm going on a ramble. :P But being epileptic is a truly amazing, and hard thing. But I always say that "things could be worse" and they're not. I'm blessed for the good health that I still have. :)
Take care

You have to look at the strengths of people, and look out for all the possiblity. Before you go into anything you have to remind yourself that you are amazing person: and that you want to put and effort into this is what makes you amazing. And that you have the confidence to make it through whatever happens.
There's no way to change your personality however. You can change the way you look at things, yes. But that whole always smiling thing: its not you, obviously. And if you start doing it you wont feel right: i can guarantee that. Especially if youre not already like that you will look like an idiot. Concentrate on doing your best, you will put your full effort into everything and you will feel great. Eventually by just trying to lose your pre-conceived notions and giving the world a chance, working hard for everything, you will become changed in that way,
But dont change your core personality. If your a little pessimistic in the end, there's nothing you can do about that its just who you are.
Remember if in the end you dont feel like yourself then stop. I know im not an always-smiling person. I feel so naiive and idiotic when i act that happy: but when i look at others like that i dont see it.
you wont look stupid if it is infact who you are. I am fairly optomistic tho,.

Positive thinker--- Always notices the brighter side of situations, notices the lesson and opportunties in every happening of life. He/she may fear that things can go wrong with him/her and the reults might be negative, but they know how to see the positive in the negative. ~~ They might not be able to see the destination clearly but they notice the flowers along the way. Positive believer--- May not be successful in observing the little bit of sunshine behind every dark time. He/she may remain sad or not really happy because they focus more on the loss than on the brighter side.. However, he/she believes that ultimately whatever will happen will be for their good and everything will eventually fall into place. ~~They focus more on the stones in the path than the flowers, yet they can clearly see that no matter how rought the path be, the destination is secure. I am more of a positive believer... I believe that ultimately whatever happens is for the good, though i might notice more of loss than gain during my way! Actually I am trying to be both..why not make the journey and destination both positive! :P PS- That was just my view...dont really know if its correct! Keep :)

Hi,
If you went to people some 200 years ago and told them - "hey, in 200 years from now, people will be able to fly. And not only that - they will fly much faster and much higher then birds."
What do you think people would have though about you? - They would have probably thought - "she/he is carzy".
And that is exactly what the wright brothers encountered when they told people about their idea. Still - they knew what they wanted to achieve and they believed in their way. They wanted so much to fly through the air that they actually made their dream come true. And they did it by investing lots of hard work and lots of time.
Now - believing in an idea is not enough to make it happen. It is not enough to believe that you can fly, climb a mountain, jump off a cliff and fly. Such an action would only lead to your death (as we all know).
So the key to success is to believe in an idea and to find a way to make it come true. The most important thing is your motivation. If you want to succeed in an exam it should be clear to you why you want to do it. If you know WHY you want to do it then you will also understand that it is important for your future and that your success in this test means a small success towards a successful life.
It is exactly like cleaning your teeth. Everybody knows that cleaning their teeth is an important matter. But not all people do it. Why? Because they didn't internalize the idea. Once you understand that you clean your teeth for YOURSELF and not for anyone else you will actually clean your teeth.
The same with your exam. You have an idea (you want to get a good grade) and you know how to make this idea come true (you must learn hard - remember: no free ride) and you also know that succeeding the exam will mean succeeding in a small part of your future.
So - if your motivation is high (because you know that what you want is important) - and you invest all you can in this matter - there is no reason to be pessimistic. If you work by that recipe you simply can't fail.
As for me - I am no optimistic. I am also no pessimistic. I like to see myself as a realistic. I try to weigh all facts and try to make a forecast of the possible outcomes. I don't like to be caught off guard after being to pessimistic and I don't like missing on opportunities because i was too pessimistic.
What I learned in the Israeli military is that I can achieve anything I want - but only if I put my mind into it. Motivation plays a very important role in your life.
O go ahead and invest lots of time and effort in learning for your exam. If you do this you will not have to be afraid – you will see that it was worth it after you get a good grade.
Hope I could help :-)

If you only read the bible you would understand that GOD loves us all without respect of who we are and if you would do the same you would understand the meaning of peace and understanding. We wrestle not with flesh and blood, but with powers of darkness in higher places, so you see people are posesed with demons that drive them to think there no good and are better than everyone else and on and on. So you have to read the bible to understand how the sprit world work's for us and the other side that work's aginst us and to learn how in Jesus's name you have power over the dark side!

First, you need to come to a trusting, loving, relationship with Jesus Christ(if you haven't already). It is important that you trust Christ as your savior. Next, check out Philippians 4:8-9 KJV of the bible. It says " Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Phi 4:9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. " God will truly help you in this if you truly seek His counsel. Pray for Him to help you in these matters and I will pray for you also.
God Bless You

The last testing sessions that I had, I was determined that I was going to excel at them.
This meant putting aside everything...except for the essentials.
But remember it is only for a little while that you need to study 100 percent...
After my good scores, the sacrifices that I had made, seemed to pale in comparison to the joy I had for my good grades.

Start forcing yourself to look at the positive side of every situation. Even horrible ones. Yes - there are positive things that can come out of horrible things. I like to collect positive sayings, too, like "In all things, patience is the key to victory!" and I post these sayings in my office at home and at work. I read them aloud to myself when my eye falls on them.
Just keep thinking positive like you have and you're on your way! Blessings and Best of luck!
