She says about twenty different words that I can understand and babbles a lot. Is this about right for her age? SHe doesn't really put words together yet.

That's actually a pretty good vocabulary for her age. I went to my daughters 18 month check-up and they asked if she says between 7-25 words and she does so I assume according to what the doctor asked that she's doing pretty good.

That is typical for that age. She should not be putting words together yet. Twenty words is good for this age and she should also understand what you are saying when you speak simple sentences to her.

Yes she's fine. Perfectly normal. Some children dont talk until their toddlers. I didnt speak in sentences until i was over three years old. I didnt have any learning or development problems, i just didnt talk. Many children are like that.

Didnt hurt me any. I was post collegiate from 5th grade on in all testing, and graduated at 16. Let her do her own thing, there is no right or wrong time to develop skills like talking.

Every child is different, she sounds fine to me. My oldest talked in complete sentences at this age, then my second and third children barely spoke at this age. They didn't seem to have to because I understood what they wanted without talking. Now my second child is 6 and in kindergarten and is on the same level as the other kids. She's fine.

15 to 18 months Very chatty, tey say up to 20 words and understand about 100 words. They will repeat the last word you say in a phase, such as when you say," Want to ride in the car? They will say, "car"

She says more than my 17 month old.
But it doesn't matter, for every child is different and will develop at their own pace.
Don't compare your baby to other children, she'll do everything when SHE is ready, not when some book tells us adults that she is supposed to do it!

That is normal. Around two years of age she will start putting together phrases and sentences.
