How did you introduce the regular milk? Did you just give your child the regular milk, or did you trying weaning him/her sublty? I have three kids, and with each one I did the same thing and they were all drinking regular milk at 12 months. You mix 1 oz regular milk, and 8 oz next step. Every few days, or week even, you increase the regular milk by 1-2 oz, and reduce the next step. After a couple of weeks, or few weeks, you are up to half and half. Then it is 75% regular milk and 25% next step. Just reduce more and more each week until your child is drinking a full bottle of regular milk. Kids have to be trained and conditioned to adapt to your lifestyle. Your child is DEFINATELY old enough for regular milk, so there are no health reasons to keep your child on formula. I would never suggest adding chocolate or sweeteners to your childs milk. It just starts bad habits early that are hard to break. Your child will find enough unhealthy habits and tastes when (s)he becomes a toddler.

Trying mixing 3 parts of the formula with one part of the milk. Do this for a few days. Then increase the milk while decreasing the formula.

If they are getting 8 ounces of the formula, only give them 6 and add in 2 ounces of whole milk.
Let them get used to it for a few days and then gradually decrease the amount of formula and increase the amount of whole milk. Give it about 3 to 4 weeks. Then, start giving whole milk. If you warm the milk a little it tends to better accepted.
This worked for all three of my kids when they were 11 months old! I hope this helps you!

Well my son had the same problem and what I did was start by mixing regular milk in the formula until he was comfortable with regular milk then I started giving him straberry milk and now he loves milk he has 3 - 4 cups a day. You just have to work with it he will adjust at his own time.

I would say to not force it. As long as your baby is drinking the formula still then he should be ok. You can try putting some kind of flavor into th milk like someone else has suggested. I give my daughter Lactaid because 1, she's lactose intolerant but she also likes it more because it's thicker and way sweeter than regular milk. Lactose Free has the same amount of fat in it as regular milk the only difference is the lactose. Try it!

I think some kids just don't like milk. My daughter is not one. She drinks more milk than she should. I have to restrict it sometimes. However, she will only drink from certain sippy cups. (They are made by Nuk) She will drink from her other sippies if they have juice or water, she just prefers her Nuk sippies more. Perhaps you could try different sippy cups and see if that helps. Also, you could try soy milk. A friend of mine found her daughter prefered soy over cow's milk. I think that as long as your son is getting 15-20 oz of dairy (regardless of how) then it is ok that he isn't drinking cow's milk.

Mix it, my doc told me it was ok to do so. Eventually add more Vit. D than formula.
