multifuel burner?

We have a multifuel & the plaster on the wall near to the fire is falling off again!! Any ideas what we can do or put on the wall behind the fire, it is free standing & not in a fire place, in the corner of a room

You want it plastered in fire plaster, it's the heat that's flaking it off.

Would putting some kind of tiles behind it work? Like you do in the fireplace surrounds.
