It depends on the speed limit laws in your state as well as the posted limit on that particular stretch of road, which should be both the same day and night. Some areas here are 70 mph while others are 55 mph.

I'm picturing 2 lanes total, one in each direction. Anywhere from 55 mph out in the middle of nowhere to 25 in a school zone or 15 or whatever is posted.

Hmmmm. I guess it could be down to A) are there any policemen around? B) how fast will your car go? C)How much bottle do you have? D) Is it safe to be doing that speed? It is not speed that causes accidents.. it is drivers who cant drive at speed. I am in the UK by the way, but on my last trip to LA my driver was doing 95 on the freeway, but everyone else seemed to be doing the same. In the uk it is 70 mph on dual carriageways and motorways and 60 or less on ordinary roads.

Depends upon where you are and sometimes the legal designation of the highway. In MO, it's 60 for county highways identified by number or name, 55 for county highways identified by letter designation, and 60 for state highways when outside city limits. These limits apply to all vehicles at any time of day.

Here in Radcliff Ky it is 745MPH, But of what i know of it is usally 55 60
