i have an 8 wk old female puppy ......i would like to know so i know when to keep her away from male dogs

they come in season anything from 9 - 18 months old don't worry you ll know when she is , the bleed for up to 3 weeks and are still most futile 7 - 10 days after they stop bleeding

It depends on the breed. On average, smaller dogs have their first heat around 6 months, with some larger breeds being much closer to a year. Also, the average female goes into heat every 6 months, so it would be the healthiest thing for your puppy to be spayed before she's 6 months old.

It can start anywhere between 5 and 18+ months. It can depend on the breed and the line within the breed. SPAYING is the answer!!!!! Then it will not be a problem. Look at all the unplanned litters on here. Don't let it happen to you!!!!!!

theres no acual season hun, it just happens i know cause my dog his name is petey and hes a boy trys to get with the girl puppys all the time so u just need to keep your dog inside for a while until u go to the vet and have her fixed.
