Well when God saw all of the evil in the world taking place in Noah's time he said he repented of ever having created us. After the flood you had much worse stuff going on so he gave Moses the 10 Commandments. Now the Jews at that time were under mosaic law which has about 300 some odd laws to follow that at the time they were written it seemed like some may be able to follow them and lead Godly lives. When God realised that man was never going to be what he had wanted for it to be he decided that rather than limiting the Kingdom of Heaven to the Jews He would send down his Son to be the perfect unblemished lamb as sacrifice for all sins from the time of Adam and Eve forward until the last trumpet sounds. therefore allowing all of creation to have a chance through Jesus to get to God in Heaven. Now when Jesus came and was sacrificed, the temple veil was rent in two symbolizing the tear in the relationship between Jews and mosaic law and the Grace that Jesus imparted. Jesus did not supercede God's law or covenant but made grace and belief in the son a replacement for the law so that all might be saved. Therefore the Jewish laws regarding temple sacrifice, food uncleanliness and such were all broken because they had never applied to the Gentile anyway and therefore the Jew could bypass those laws and take his free gift of redemption. The problem is most Jews even today do not recognize Jesus as the Messiah and are going to be judged in the end by the laws they hold themselves too while all of the others will be judged by faith and works.

God didn't do this, man had and apparently still has a poor understanding of the purpose of the Law. Jesus "fullfilled" the law not changed it. The law is meant to point to our fallen nature, it is the only way of recognizing sin, which so many self righteous people think they have not done. That is the purpose of the law. You break the law, the fine is death. Jesus came and paid that fine, he lived perfectly according to the 10 commandments for us, and when one is born again, they are renewed in their mind by the Holy Spirit who takes up residence in the life and mind of the believer to help them live this life according to how God would have them. The things we have not the power to overcome, he empowers us so we can overcome them. A Christian is not perfect and cannot live by the law, and if they are indeed genuine, they will be the first one to tell you that.

It must be a standard deity, creature, contract.
First you must set it all up, the good world with the good people and the not-so-good serpent with the not-so-good tree of knowledge.. The accident(he he) happens and they must start feeling the WRATH.
Some not-so-good angels mess things up more so a purge is necessary.
God must pick a favourite and let Him show his WRATH a LOT.
God must sprinkle throughout vague promises of a way out of this GOD WRATH enabling cycle.
God must show proof of his existence beyond a shadow of a doubt, so He tells them the RULES and performs a bunch of outstanding miracles. But he has picked the DUMBEST CHOSEN PEOPLE on the entire planet who will quit believing at the drop of a hat. More WRATH.
If He's not demonstrating his WRATH against the enemies of the chosen ones, He's busy taking out his WRATH on them for being stupid.
FINALLY, Jesus comes with a mixed message, here's your last chance for LOVE, if you don't like it, it is back to WRATH for you.
It is so simple that a Christian child could understand it. God is Love... or ELSE... WRATH.

Jesus didn't change the law, He fulfilled it (this is why, for instance, stoning sinners is no longer necessary because He received the punishment for our sins....in essence being stoned for all of us). It is also important to understand that God creates covenants with His people. Samson for example had a covenant with God that required he not cut his hair. This applied only to samson and not to future generations. And so in the same way, the Israelites of that time has certain things that applied only to them and not to the generations who followed Christ's First Coming...

You are correct sir. Jesus did not take away the law but he did fufill it. Many things such as animal sacrifice were physical example of spiritual things and when fufilled they are no longer practiced...If the ultimate sacrifice has been made why would we continue putting ourselves under law. Chrisitans have chosen to accept the atonement of Christ.

God made rules allright but the thing is that He has given us the privilege of "choosing", of "deciding" .. ever since Adan and Eve ate the fruit of the forbidden tree (aka the tree of good and evil .. hint hint) humans were allowed to be in the "real word", in a world where evil and good coexist. Then He gave us rules, but that doesn't means that everyone is going to follow them. Coz at the end it's up to each of us to follow them or not.

God wanted us to obey His Laws, thats why we had Prophets time to time to warn you and finally the Christ to elobarate the meanings. Don't think them as rules that bind you but as common sense. God never forces, out of His Incomparable love He gave us the guide line to live in peace and happiness.

The only rules that we are no longer supposed to follow are those having to do with cleanliness, such as who we can associate with and what we can eat.

We are all created with free will, meaning we can choose to follow the 10 Commandments or ignore them.
