The MEDIA and the Politicians depict the immigrants from Mexico as the "problem." We ignore all other illegals because no one cares about the ones that look white like us. The media keeps showing us Hispanic immigrants and soon, we think we have a problem because we notice the Hispanics.
Yes, there are many illegal immigrants from our southern border. Many do not speak English, take the lowest paying jobs and send the money back home. Unlike what you RACISTS think, most are not criminals. Most want to earn enough money to support their families. Most take the jobs that few Americans would be willing to take. Thanks to them, we have affordable fruits and vegetables, affordable clothes, affordable fast food, etc.
Our Politicians, in their infinite wisdom and search for more votes, have proposed sending the illegals back, then having them apply to become legal and wait for approval. While we build a wall. Hmmm. Since the INS, oops, now Homeland Security has a backlog of YEARS of applicants I do not think this is a serious solution.
There has to be reform. The current system does not work. Homeland Security is worried about Osama (as they should) and not about someone from south-of-the-border coming to pick oranges. We need a quick way to process the applicants. We must do thorough background checks, referral checks, etc quickly so we can approve or deny them in a timely manner.
Ancestral immigration is important because it is a part of our culture and helped make America what it is today. We aren't all whites from Europe. We are multi-cultural and multi-colored. Many of our ancestors were ILLEGALS too. They worked hard, paid taxes, had kids and contributed to society. We (their descendants) now speak English, are American and have the same hopes and dreams that all Americans do. Ancestral immigration is not an irrelevant subject; it is an ongoing, evolving process that makes Americans.

History is part of it. Juan Ponce De Leon conquered Florida in the 1500's the rest of the conquistadors laid waste to the Aztecs etc. in Mexico, and Spain ruled Mexico for a LONG time...probably why spanish is the dominant language in Mexico. But, you won't hear pro-illegals/mexicans arguing their case for compensation or anything with Spain, of course that's probably because Spain likely doesn't have any money to give etc. America on the other hand, everyone trashes on us these days, we're to blame for everything from your bus being late to moldy bread! LOL
But, at the end of the day, when all the smack-talk is over and done with, the United States is still a pretty good country, which is why people are practically killing themselves to get in it.
In one way, you could look at illegal immigration as a back-handed compliment, but a compliment nonetheless. No one's trying to break into Poland, for example...that we know of, anyway...nonetheless, illegal immigration's a big issue, as it relates to the larger issue of global population growth, and other countries not reacting quickly enough to their own population growth by building the needed infrastructure, roads, schools, and hospitals etc. Thus, somehow it became america's job to take all comers, or so they'd have it...it's still against the law, it's still causing lots of problems, and it's a great reason to get our border fence built. It's ALSO a good reason to take a no-nonsense approach to whatever is going on in re: foreign aid, to ensure that every single plug nickel gets spent correctly, if it gets spent at all...

You answered your own question by your statement:
"THINGS CHANGE!"
How right you are! Things are changing all around us. If you are aware of that and acknowledge it why are you having such a problem with it? Why are you here in this forum complaining about these changes?
Things CHANGED for the Native Americans when OUR ancestors arrived unannounced and unexpected and things are CHANGING for us as a new wave of immigrants - legal or illegal - are arriving.
Are you intelligent enough to grasp that?

Its a lot like playing the old tired worn out race card. They don't have a viable argument for their cause so the latch onto any thing they can find. Its really pathetic.Show me facts because rhetoric doesn't cut it..
Immigration glorification needs a reality check! There are plenty of lazy immigrants and illegal aliens. Our jails are over-flowing with immigrants and illegal aliens. Lower their glorification to the reality that foreign-born persons are neither inherently good nor inherently bad. Making generalizations is generally inaccurate and the issue is mass numbers.
map.have you read any of the other questions and posts on here? If you don't see the arrogance in them from the pro- illegals then you my friend haven't been paying attention.

I say, the "Spores" were here First. Then the "Cavemen" stole it from the Spores and so on...
Who came first the Chicken or the Egg???
They honestly think, it makes them a little less illegal...
They love to distort the truth!
Most come from Communist countries or countries with dictators, that's where they get their reasoning and logic.
We are a Nation of Laws and that's where everything begins.
No one is above the law.
LEGAL OR LEAVE!

Yeah I completely agree with you. Laws and rules change with time. But the thing is, the USA was founded on the principles of immigration and equal opportunity to all. That's where the debate comes in. Where can we draw the line in this case?
