my two chi's like kibble.

be sure you buy a good quality of kibble. don't get a 'store' brand. i'd go with something like iams or purina one. get a dog food whose first ingredient is something other than corn.

with the cheaper foods, the first ingredient is usually always corn because corn is cheap and its a good filler material. the more expensive things like chicken or lamb are added much later in the mfg process and in much lower quantities. a poor quality food means more poop because they've got to get rid of all that filler.

right now my pups are on purina one---whose first ingredient is lamb. they like it a lot and they poop a lot less than when we bought the store brand of food.

enjoy your chihuahua! they're a special kind of pup---i love mine dearly.

Canned food is first of all, not good for her teeth, and secondly, if you read the label you'll see you're paying for a lot of water and getting much less nutrition than from a good quality kibble.

Its also best to feed a dog or ac at dry food, because when they crunch it it tends to help break up the tarter and plaque that form on the teeth. Wet food actually encourages the tarter and plaque.
