Has anyone every consider that perhaps God isnt every lasting. I know what the bible says and i believe that he is ominpotient and all but perhaps he isnt everlasting. Perhaps the reason why he created us was too find that one pure soul like himself that could replace him when he was gone. That would explain why he created us in his own image, all the temptations and rules and such. Maybe God is looking for a replacement and the way you conduct yourself on this world and how faithful you are at following his rules are your resume. Could you take over for God? Are you up to the challenge? This puts a whole new perspective on the "Why are we here? Question. I know men are not Gods but if he wanted you to take his place and become God dont you think he could? All answers are welcome so please speak up.

If you "know what the bible says", then why are you asking this question?

Psalm 9:7
The LORD reigns forever; he has established his throne for judgment.

Psalm 102:12
But you, O LORD, sit enthroned forever; your renown endures through all generations.

Isaiah 26:4
Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD, is the Rock eternal.

Lamentations 5:19
You, O LORD, reign forever; your throne endures from generation to generation.

Hebrews 7:24
but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood.

Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Revelation 1:8
"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty."

There is no reason for us to even attempt to "take over for God". He is the "Alpha and the Omega", the beginning and the end. He not die! He is not only mere mortal! He is GOD Almighty! He does not die like an old man; and do really think that He seriously has the intention of filling His "spot" with just a sinful mortal? No! And, why are we here? So that we can love, worship, praise, and give thanks to our God! May God, who is everlasting, bless you!

I've read that Jesus, who is God's son, part of the trinity which includes the Holy Spirit, is the same yesterday, today, and forever. If you are searching this you should start reading the Gospel of John in the Bible. Your speculations would be answered. I would never be able to take God's place because I don't have power over everything, such as wind, rain, floods, light, darkness, not to mention affecting people's lives like God does. Trusting God is what you need, as I have also needed. Go to the source, below. It is very interesting and informative.

The Bible says " I am the way the Truth and the life" If God is Truth than he is never ending. Just like math in a sense. Math is a type of truth and it is never ending ( forever - <0> + forever).
If God is Truth than it would explain why he was able to create all things just by speaking (ex. Let there be light).
Note: God is Truth. Please don't get confused and think that He is nothing but Truth. He is Truth and so much more.
God is Truth therefor He will never End.

Hmmm...that's a very interesting way of viewing things. Extremely interesting, actually. I had never considered such a possibility before. I personally don't think that God takes much interest in human lives either way...I'm of the thought that he created us and then let us be. But your idea does give one something to think about...

i agree that God is not everlasting. god is in our minds. as long as we believe that there is a god, then there is a god. the moment we stop acknowledgind the existance of God, he is gone. we r our own god. we decide our future through our actions. we r here to complete the long journey we call life. when we r lonely, we look upto someone whom we believe exists - God.
yes, i could take over 4 God but only 4 myself. i decide my own path. i take my own decisions. but i will not take over 4 god. i am not some superman. i need support. and i shall always look upto god for that. god will always be there 4 me, bcause i will always know that he is there.

Hope i didn't hurt any religious sentiments. i didn't mean to. i am an devout believer in God

What you suggest is not possible. Sounds more like science fiction to me! By the way, that is exactly what Satan tried to do, replace God, and failed miserably. Look what a mess we are in now. So you think you want to replace God. Go ahead give it a try and see how far you get. I can tell you exactly where it will get you, an eternal place in the Lake of Fire just where Satan is going in not too distant of a future. On the other hand. There is a better choice for you. Maybe you should just accept Jesus Christ as your own personal Lord and Savior from all your sins.
Jesus Christ Is the Only Way To Heaven!

In The Holy Bible, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6. He meant “I am the only way to God the Father and to heaven”, “I am the only truth that you need to know.” and “I am the only spiritual life available to mankind.” In other words, “I am the only true and living God.”
All other so-called gods are false gods. They are not real. They do not exist. Satan creates counterfeit gods, religions and faith in them. They appear to be the genuine articles but they are false. They are phony. They are bogus. No other so-called god has the power to forgive, cleanse and remove all your sins from you to get you to heaven. They don't even claim to.
I pray you will believe this and accept the fact that you are a sinner needing to be saved from your sins (“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:23, The Holy Bible.) and accept the fact that the blood Jesus Christ shed for you at Calvary is the only way you can have your sins forgiven, cleansed and removed and is the only way you can get to heaven. I pray you will acknowledge that you are a sinner and ask Jesus Christ to forgive, cleanse and remove all you sins and accept Him into your heart/life to live for Him the rest of your life. (“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” John 1:12, in the Holy Bible.) That is what it means to be born again. (“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3 in The Holy Bible.) Salvation is a free gift. You cannot work for it. You cannot be good enough to earn it. You must, by faith, receive it as a free gift. (“8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast.”) Ephesians 2:8-9.
God loves you and it is not His will that you perish in hell.
(“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” II Peter 3:9 in The Holy bible.)
This is my prayer for you

Its like this. God = Creator. Creator created space and time. Time does not exist before time. Past, present and future exist only relative to the current moment to the time of creation.

There is no such thing as time-before-time. Since creator existed before time was created, He is not bound by time. He exists outside of creation and simply exists!

God is Beyond Time and God Always is. "I am that I am". Thats all there is to it.

I agree with Wright Sense, God said I will never leave you or forsake you, and he is eternal. He said and am the Alpha & Omega, the begining and the end. I'd suggest reading and studying the Bible more.

Wow -- a question that I haven't seen before. (I think.)

I believe -- I suspect -- I hope that we can learn how to not die. Once we've got that problem solved, then look out cosmos, here we come. We're gonna make all the gods look like pikers.

That is, if we don't destroy ourselves and everything else first.
