Yes, they do, just not with lungs.

"Air enters through valves along their sides. In most insects, these openings occur, in pairs at each segment of their outside skeleton. Small muscles in the openings contract to close the valves and relax to open them and thus, control air flow. The valves remain closed most of the time and only open to bring in air or expel carbon dioxide."

If you trap an insect in a space where they can't get oxygen, they will die rather quickly.

I heard somewhere that ticks breathe, I think 4 times a day. Since they breathe, I'm assuming other insects breathe, too.

Yes, of course they do. Some absorb oxygen through spiracles on their sides. Others have their own version of a nose. But they don't have lungs as we know them. Below is a link from Wikipedia that explains a bit of the differences...

Every living organism breathes in some way, shape or form. Even grass breathes some way, same with your hair.
