I have tried, unsuccessfully, to get either my congresman or senator to sponsor a constitutional amendment that will, once and for all, solve the illegal imigration issue.
if we all start bombarding our congressmen and senators with this idea, we can get it done!
the amendment needs these few points:
1. children born within the US & territories receive only the status of its parent(s)
2. illegal aliens are barred from owning, renting, working or receiving education.
Easy enough, right?

The legal side of the opposing party would argue your points above as being unconstitutional ...and they may be at this point but that all needs to be changed. I agree with your orientation all the way but your solutions are too extreme as worded.
There is a way to end illegal immigration but our chicken poo representatives are out to lunch on what or how to do it.
I suspect many think their bed is best feathered by legalizing the illegal influx and hoping in some fashion the new citizens will re elect them number one, and they corporate giants will continue to fund money or influence to thier advantage as they payoff will and can continue, is number two. Most of our reps in Washington are grabbing for as much juice as they can get, cuz they know the end is in site. Maybe the end of the USA.
Only if we the people end the corruption and insist on enforcement of laws that protec the USA in the long run will things change. I don't know if that is possible without blood in the streets. These oafs we call reps. don't take us seriously. They don't care about the future. They want to get theirs now and to Hell with America and the rest of us. That's the problem in a nut shell. If we put a few in jail and nailed a few to the barn door. That might work. Who can guess anymore?

If you were the child, you would feel different, imagine 15yrs old lived in LA all your life. Now your in Mexico a strange place for you. Then you find out your Mother and Father cannot make a living to support you. What about that?
This issue is much more than you realize.
First, we will never solve this problem without the government of Mexico involved. You know that is where most of them are coming from.
We should put some of the money we spend on Iraq in helping our neighbor Mexico. Help them create a more stable economy so there will be no need to come here for economic reasons.
Then we must secure the borders.
Once we stop most of the entry, then we could brainstorm on what to do with the 12 million illegal aliens already here.
One plan will not fix it.
It will take cooperation from Mexico, and a joint effort by Federal, State, Country, and City governments to participate in a plan where we use all our resources available.
Until Congress cares about the people and the real issues such as immigration more that getting re-elected. Think it will happen?

No elected official is going to sign up for that. You are right that the law needs to be adjusted so that a child born in the US of an illegal does not receive citizenship.

I'm with you on number 1. As for number 2, preventing someone from having a roof over their head is inhumane, I don't care what their immigration status is.

What we need is to get our government to enforce the Existing Immigration Laws already on the books!
We already have law against all this stuff!! We have to force our government to start enforcing the laws on illegal aliens.
They sure know how to enforce the laws on us!
