Respect to the troops out there by the way. But I still think the situation is not good.

We seem to have made a lot of enemies - with loooooooong memories. Not the smartest thing we could have done.
Why on earth did Blair ever go along with Bush's imperial fantasies? Thought he was smart ?

We does no longer go through from now on actual issues if we pulled out. we'd take powerful with image and attractiveness, yet we've already had significant losses there so a splash greater won't injury us. extremely, worse case scenario a brutal anti-West dictator takes power. Iraq will go through, however the U. S. would be super. extremely, terrorist assaults are the only way radical Muslims can attack us. as long as we survive precise of cells and who's the place and proceed anti-terror efforts, we'd desire to continually be ok. there is not any way that any distant places power ought to attack the mainland US in a naval invasion, the U. S. army is merely too efficient. As for land invasions, I rather doubt that the two Canada or Mexico will make a flow against the U. S.. short version: US would be super, yet Iraq will go through.

The U.S. and England has been handing land back to the Iraqi government. The U.S. will have handed back over 75% of Iraq by the begining of next year. Sometime in 2008, Iraq's government will have complete control of Iraq. The U.S. has also build hundreds of schools and trained a few hundred thousand Iraqi police and soldiers. Meanwhile 400 rebels couldn't take over a police station! I believe that the killings will die down as people start to hate all those factions. More will join the government to put down all those factions. It took Chicago and New York about 50 years to get rid of their mobsters.

Your premise is false, and, furthermore, you know it. Secondly, The United States gave up imperialism circa 1854. To continue to insist that we are an imperialist nation is disingenuous at best, and I suspect your motives are not the best. You and your ilk may succeed in forcing us to withdraw from Iraq (and then Afghanistan), and if you do, you will claim a political victory. And while you are busy with your victory dance and cheering the cause of the terrorists, millions, not hundreds or thousands, but millions will die, as happened when your kind forced us to withdrew our protection from the people of South Viet Nam. Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it.

Nobody wins at war - there are outcomes of war, but innocent people get killed along the way - no winning there then. Any politician or government who believes that going to war will solve the woes of this World has spent too much time in the trees and can't see the wood anymore - truth is that war is the lazy option and it also fills the coffers of the arms industry supplying the forces involved and lining the pockets of the shareholders.

We haven't lost the war nor have we lost the cause. I would be curious to know why you think the war in Iraq is lost?

The war is not lost, and it will not be any time soon that it is won. This is a long road that we are traveling down, but we must travel it or loose our way of life.

We will have to rebuild the military. Russia lost its status as a world power and the USSR broke up because of their war in Afghanistan. The same thing could happen to us because we got into this stupid war.
