I have a big pigmented patch of skin on my shoulder..it is much darker thatn my skin tone..it looks like a birth mark or some burn mark...but i noticed it only 5 years ago.
I dont remeber ever getting burnt or something...but then how did it appear...what can it possibly be?Can it be removed or will it go away?
Can it be something serious?
Has anyone ever had something like this?

See a doctor. Ask all this to your doctor, but before that ask your parents (mother show it to her or aunt) first.

If it is the original then not to woory, must watch it, keep a trace of it to compare the size, if size has changed or may change run to a doctor,

Tell the doctor that it is changing.

If you are having regular check ups show it to the doctor at next check up, no harm in, let it be known.

Could be any thing but it could be blood blister, turns from red to black, if dry dead skin falls off, it will wash off. Takes years, mine took 60 years to drop off.

Keep an eye on it and if you notice any changes such as change in shape, colour or if it has irregular edges, or if it is raised or has hairs in it, get it checked as soon as possible. Probably better to get it checked out now anyway, by a dermatologist if possible because five years is long enough to go without a doctor seeing it.

Got to the dermatologist. Especially if you burn easily. Skin cancer is bad to get. It could be sun damage.
Look on Google images for it if it make you feel better but i would still show it to the doctor to be safe.

It could be from the sun! But i am guessing that it is a birthmark!

Just to be sure, i would have a doctor check it out! it could be a sign of cancer, u never know. (And i dont mean to scare u either!)

Generally speaking a birthmark is there from birth. I would go to a dermatologist to make sure that you do not have anything that you should be concerned about.
