I know they don't do the bumps in France (as in birthday bumps)but what would be a way of saying it?

For those who don't know what the bumps are, it's when it's someone's brithday and several of you grab them by the feet and hands and then bump them say, 10 times if it's their 10th birthday.

I mean you bump the person on the ground or floor.
This must be a strictly British tradition! We used to do it at primary school all the time, you'd end up dreading it as you got older cos sometimes they got a bit carried away and 10 hard bumps on the play ground can be quite painful.
Never heard of birthday spanking!
