Yes. Start them out early one. Buy him a potty and every time you go--let him go. A lot of people will say "wait until he's ready." Of course you should wait until they are ready to EXPECT them to go potty but for now letting him use the potty isn't forcing him--it's just teaching him and letting him learn slowly about his toilet needs. Best of Luck!

If he's already made pee-pee in the big toilet then, Why not. He's already taken the initiative. Buy him a potty and as soon as he wakes in the morning put him on it and let him sit for a little while, but you always want to keep him entertained. Give him a book to look at, or sing a song with him to keep him company, and of course LOTS of praise. Every couple of hours put him back on the potty with a book, toy, etc., and you should be out of diapers soon. Remember though you have to be consistent. Good Luck and God Bless.

13 months is kinda young for potty training. usually right around 2 yrs is the ideal. However in the mean time you can familiarize your son with the toilet and also get a potty chair and keep it in the house so he knows what it is and isn't afraid of it. If he already used the big potty he might be ready soon. Most kids will let you know when they are ready to use the potty.
Like...letting you know when there diaper is full. Bringing you diapers to change them. Telling you when they are going pee poop. when the times comes you will definitely know and just go with it.

Yes, go ahead. Praise him when he goes. Don't make potty like a punishment by making him sit on it for long periods. If there's a male in the home, let your son see how to pee standing instead of sitting to pee like a girl. If not, stand him in front of the pot and help him "hold it" as he pees. When he gets the idea, then add the cheerios to help his aim. One more thing.... when he's peeing, DON'T call his name cause he will turn around and wet everything with his stream!!!

Just be casual about it. Praise him when he does it, but don't make a big deal about it if he doesn't. With my son, he was very used to being in the bathroom with us, so when the time came (3 year birthday) to really potty train him, it was easy. He wasn't afraid of the toilet or anything.
I think your boy is still pretty young, but it never hurts to encourage good behavior. Good luck, and don't be disappointed if it doesn't work yet.

if your son has used the toilet already and is happy using it id cut out the potty.my son refused to use the potty and went straight to the toilet too.let him go about with no nappy on or trousers and watch for the signs he needs to pee and take him to the toilet.get him a liitle step .also he found it easier peeing standing up! he thought it was fun to pee in the water!
good luck

Encourage him, praise praise praise! It would be great if he was potty trained so young. Look for signs he needs to go if he is not talking yet, and sit him on the potty on a regular basis. Don't give him anything to drink for about 1 1/2 hrs before bed.

Good job little man!

My daughter had started potty training around 15 months on those seats that you buy at the store to put over the seat on the big toilet so she won't fall..

dont force your children to pee in the toilet. your son sounds like he's ready thought when you give him a drink, 15 minutes later go to the potty with him......sit him down and wait with him and hive him somthing everytime he does something.....

If you do decide to just remember to go at his pace, children develop at different ages, some are ready early. You know your child best, let him set the pace, and praise him for his efforts. Oh, and of course include daddy in the training.
