The most likely thing: the lamp is bad. A replacement is expensive (approx $450) so you may wish to consider taking the projector to a dealer to have it checked out in case it isn't the lamp. On the other hand lamps do wear out (or can be broken in shipping/handling) so if you intend to keep the projector you should have a spare anyway ... so buy one and try it to see if that fixes the problem. If not you need to get the projector serviced and now have a spare lamp for when the old one dies. One site is at the link below ... but there are numerous internet stores that handle (second link) and you may find a better price. Installation is covered in the manual.
