I think stopping watching horror movies is the only way to deal with this, or just put up with it.
I've been having nightmares every night for the past month and I think its because I am depressed.
Mention it to your doctor next time you are in, but hopefully the antidepressants will kick in and help.

You really should stop watching horror movies...or stop taking anti-depressants...not sure which but I'd stop watching horror movies first if that doesn't work stop with the anti-depressants as well. If you keep having these problems then I'm not sure that's all I could come up with...but remember!! Would seeing these weird things bother you enough to stop watching horror movies?

I am in the exact same position as you - last week I watched The Hills Have Eyes and had nightmare after nightmare. I also read a lot of horror books. If you try to scare yourself silly, as I do, you can't really complain about nightmares. Think the anti-depressants make them a bit worse though!

I was watching Most Haunted the other night when Derek Acorah was getting possessed. I fell asleep and had a nightmare that the Devil was trying to pull me over the fence into my next door neighbour's garden! It's the horrors you're watching, love. Try watching The Disney Channel, pleasant dreams are guaranteed!

Well, seeing as ive concluded it wasnt my screamy shouty music making me angry, i might risk saying its not the horror movies giving you nightmares. If you enjoy something, why should you stop? Any type of drug that affects the way your body works can give you bad dreams, even anti-depressants.
Make sure youre eating proper meals and drinking plenty of water. Getting the proper doses of vitamins and minerals you need each day. Try googling for something about healthy eating and living.
Have you tried regular exercise? Thats what my doctor suggested when i had depression. And dont eat cheese before bed time, even though people say it doesnt give you nightmares, ive found it does.
Its always difficult to answer thee types of questions as i dont know your exact situation, but i hope this helps.

Are they nightmares that terrify you out of your sleep or are they weird dreams? I like my weird dreams. Dreams are just the dust bunnies of the subconscious mind.
Write them down when you wake up. Don't stop watching the movies, since you enjoy them.

Were you having these nightmares before you started taking antidepressants? If not, you might actually be having an adverse effect from the drugs. I think you should discuss this with you doctor.

I'd say stop with the weird movies before you go to bed, the same thing happens to me. They say if your room is cold that it contributes to bad dreams and lay off any sugary foods too
