Spray it a little first before you curl it. After you're done, don't mess with it too much or you'll take the curl back out. Just fluff it with your fingers a little and lightly spray it again. Also, avoid using too wet of a spray or spraying it too much or it will have the opposite effect and weigh your hair down.

If you really need curls, try spritzing each section with hairspray before curling it with a hot curling iron. If you hear a hissing sound that means your hair will probably stay curled, but it's not really that great for your hair, unfortunately.

You might consider getting some fake curled hair. You can then just put your hair in a bun, and pin the fake hair on top of it. If this is for a stage or a dance show, no one in the audience will ever know!

The humidity always kills the curls in my hair too when I go outside. I usually have to use some spritz or gel. I prefer Paul Mitchel's spritz and gels whenever I use any. But I do not use a lot of alcohol-containing products on my hair, just occasionally; so you can guess that I don't wear curls that often. If you want to curl with hot irons or a dryer, use a good product that prevents heat damage.

Try curling smaller sections at a time and spritz each section well with some curling spray/hairspray.
Try getting your hair trimmed too, if it's been a while.. Dry damaged split ended hair will not hold a curl well at all..

I think ur hair is like mine straight and silky.I too face same problem to curl up my hair. There is only one way to put gel or mousse or hair spray and put rollers to make it keep curls .I tried but cudnt get the perfect curls and i dnt want to use high chemical products to damage my hair. So, its better to make urself happy with this formula may be it can work for u..best of luck

if you curl your hair with rags the evening prior to styling them it should hold for as long as you need it...
1.on wet hair apply gel and let dry to almost dry,
2.brush hair thoroughly
3.using rags as curlers wrap hair around rag and roll upwards when you get to the base of the hair just make a not in the rag
p.s. women have been using this technique for centuries if women in the 19th century could make their curls last without hair gel, your do should be safe for at least a day

here are some suggestions to get wavy/curly hair. i havent tried some of them, but i ve heard that they work-
curl with iron or rollers
put some hairspray in ur hair before going to bed and the tossing and moving will create random waves
braid ur hair and when u remove it there will be waves
put some defining product in ur hair and keep twirling it around ur finger. then, finger comb gently through to separate the waves
use sea salt spray or surf spray. sea salt will give really pretty beach waves
use mousse
scruch it with gel

good luck!
