Don't quote the scriptures or things like because my God or holy book says so or whatever. Explain why you personally think that your religion is good, or the atheists and agnostics can expalin why their way of life is better. And no abuses or insults please, just explain why you think your beliefs are better.

Here's my answer:

Lets look at things this way - I am a citizen of the three physical dimensional (plus the fourth dimension being time) cosmos which itself may be one cosmos in the multitude of multiple dimensional cosmos (plural).

My cosmos contains my universe which contains my local cluster of galaxies which contains the Milky Way Galaxy (My Galaxy), on one of the outer peripheries of one of my galaxy's spiral arms is Sol (my star) which contains my planet Earth which contains the continent of Asia which contains my country India which contains Karnataka - the state in which I currently reside in, which contains my city of residence Bangalore which contains the suburb I live in, which contains the street I live on, which contains my house.

My universe is estimated to be around 10-15 billion years, old, my star -Sol or Sun a middle aged second generation 5 billion year star, life on my planet is estimated to have evolved around 3-4 billion years ago, my species around 2-4 million years ago and I'll consider myself fortunate if I live even for one-tenth of a millennium.

On a cosmic scale, even my galaxy may appear as just a blemish and may be unnoticeable in the fabric of space, and I would not even be the size of a speck- but - the ripple that I (any human) could cause in the still waters (the cosmos) could change the course of history, of space of existence/s. So why should I limit myself to a country or a race or a caste or a religion or a continent or a creed (narration intentionally not in order)? As I said - I am a citizen of the cosmos, or a multitude of cosmos (plural)

There can never be anyone else like me at this point in space in this given instant of time ever. I am unique (and so is every other creature!).
Oh! The Creator of these wonders! I thank thee!
.

I think that my eyes are open. I 'see' the hustling and bustling of life on this planet as the natural course of things. It's a struggle for a bigger slice of the pie for all living things, more room, more resources, more respect. Like King Solomon said in the middle of the big book, "Vanity of vanities, all is vanity..." The world turned round before I was born and it will continue to turn after I'm dead. There will only be peace for 'me'... non existence. No more debts, no more worries and no more problems and puzzles to try to figure out.
I think that every born person has a faint glimmer of hope that somewhere we will meet our loved ones again, in a happier place with no problems, But always some astute businessmen want to beaurocracize the idea of the Great Beyond and you end up with a system whereby you are paying someone to tell you how to think and what to think.
We will all die eventually and we will then be truly at peace. To project our hopes(Heaven) and fears(Hell) into this Great Beyond is to create a mystery and that mystery now requires a faith and apparently that requires instruction, and ultimately money..
To not do that is my way, I need no organized group to convince me that death is peace. Everlasting peace. I do not mourn for the dead, I mourn for my loss, but only when I'm being selfish.

well, i don't make comparisons as to whether my life is better than that of someone else b/c of my beliefs or disbelief's but as an Agnostic Pantheist i am content to ponder the mysteries of the universe without drawing any conclusions. i'm happy to be self honest enough to admit that i don't know what or who "God" is (if God is a what or a who). i am pleased to have no dogma i must adhere to as i am free to change and update my God concepts with new and more accurate scientific data. i won't say that my life is better than that of deity worshipers but i will say that my life is much better now that i am no longer trapped within the limiting confines of a religion based on a book on ancient myths.

As an atheist I can't say my life is better or worst than any other person. I may have more free time on my hands with my family on Sundays instead of going to church.

There is no way of life or living style being an atheist. You just live your life like anyone else besides religious affairs.

I believe in God, and I want to follow the example of Jesus' life - but I don't claim any religion as my own. I also don't think my way is better or worse than anyone else's - it's just mine.

I will not live by a fear that my soul is in jeopardy if I offend a hateful God. That is absurd. I am Agnostic. I think that there may be a God. He does not get involved withn us here in any way. He does not care if you believe or not. I fear no hell because it does not exist.

I am a Gnostic christian. It is better because it is rational and follows the true teachings of christ. ( not the jewish bible) It is not a system that allows you to avoid responsibility or remain ignorant. It requires you to be informed and acquire knowledge rather than believe what you are told to believe. it is NOT based upon faith but upon knowledge. TRY IT!

I love Jesus, respect Mohammed, adore Buddha ...means I am a Hindu

All religions are good if people understand them truely.

And yes I believe in evolution too...does that make me a atheist too? LOL
