I can't decide what you people are, and I'm not sure you know what you are either. This is an important question for straight men because with modern vaginoplasty, feminizing surgeries and harmone treatments, many transsexuals can convince men they are really women. What's more, after going to some transsexual websites, it's apparent that many transsexuals find straight male lovers and never tell their lover that they are a transsexual. Most guys would have a problem with that.

Transexuals still have penises where as post op tansexuals don't. If a person is physically a male or female what is the problem? It's not for you to decide what anyone is. Oh yeah you might get a betteranswer if you ask this question in the transgender section.

People are whatever they consider themselves to be. I've done years of research on all aspects of transsexuality, from causes to different society's reactions to just about everything related to transsexuality. One of the little tidbits that I found out is that not all women are XX and not all men are XY, and that's in "normal society." As for what the person is considered, they are whatever they consider themselves to be. Human genetics and fetal development can vary A LOT. The body can vary from masculine to androgynous to feminine. As they say, we come in all shapes and sizes. If the person can't "pass" to save their life, but consider themselves a woman, that's what their gender identity is and what you should treat them as.
As for the relationship part, for pre-op transsexuals it's irresponsible and immoral to seduce someone and then trick them like that. There are SOME transwomen that do that, and it shows no respect for the person they're perusing. The only person I've dated I was completely upfront with about me being trans. Post-op, it should be less of an issue. There's many women out there that were born intersexed and go their whole lives without knowing they had a little bit of both sexes down there. The physical transition becomes a part of the person's medical history that may be brought up at some point, but let's think about this for a moment. When it comes down to one night stands, who reveals their entire medical history prior to making a move? I don't think there's very many straight men that have stood there and repeated their entire medical history from chicken pox at 8 up through the colonoscopy they had last month before asking to take the conversation to a place a little more private.
As for the "most guys" part, there are a LOT of men that don't have a problem with their partner being trans. Maybe do some research before you speak for "most guys." Oh, and only some irresponsible, disrespectful transwomen pull that whole "tranny surprise" act. Heck, some transwomen aren't even attracted to men. Stereotypes like this are part of the reason we hold candlelight vigils every year to Remember Our Dead.

1) a transgendered person knows what they are...it's everyone else that is confused.
2) you are obviously talking about male to female post-op transgender...they are female.
3) i agree that many straight guys would have a problem with that, but why? would you have a problem with dating a woman that had breast implants, a nose-job, or some other body altering surgery?
4) i think the only obligation a post-op transgendered female has is to tell her boyfriend that she is unable to have children.

Most guys?! I think every single straight, decent, self-respecting male would have a problem with that. People are exactly are, and always will be, what they were born as. No amount of surgery can change that.
