If not, then why?

If so, are Christians justified if they disobey its rulings, even if that means breaking the law?

God has authority over the Supreme Court, but only those who seek and find God's will have authority from God.

It depends on which rulings AND which Christians you are speaking about when you ask if Christians are justified in disobeying. If you are talking about whether or not certain people who call themselves Christians are justified in murdering abortion doctors, the answer to that is no. If you are talking about people who know Christ disobeying certain rulings pertaining to civic matters, then the answer is perhaps.

I would have to know specifics. There is no way to give a blanket statement in response to your questions. And the fact that you are asking a blanket question makes me think that you are seeking a way to justify some hidden agenda that does not issue forth from God but issues forth from your--or others'--idea about what God wants you and/or them to do.

It is a grave crime and offense against God to say that something is his will when really it is your own agenda. I would seriously discourage you from engaging in this type of behavior under any circumstances.

Jehovah's Witnesses follow the scripture at Romans 13:1-4 which says:
"Let every soul be in subjection to the superior authorities, for there is no authority except by God; the existing authorities stand placed in their relative positions by God. Therefore he who opposes the authority has taken a stand against the arrangement of God; those who have taken a stand against it will receive judgment to themselves. For those ruling are an object of fear, not to the good deed, but to the bad. Do you, then, want to have no fear of the authority? Keep doing good, and you will have praise from it; for it is God’s minister to you for your good. But if you are doing what is bad, be in fear: for it is not without purpose that it bears the sword; for it is God’s minister, an avenger to express wrath upon the one practicing what is bad."

The government serves a purpose: keeping a semblance of order so that the world isn't ruled by anarchy. We pay our taxes, follow the laws (even when we personally don't agree), and try to lead quiet lives.

However, there is Biblical precedence of circumstances where Christians' duties to God override their obedience to governmental authorities. When the early Christians were told to stop preaching by the authorities their response was: "We must obey God as ruler rather than men." (Romans 5:29)

If governmental authorities demand that we do something that God says is wrong, or demand that we not do something God has said we must do, they are overstepping their authority and God's will must be followed. Since the Supreme Court is filled with men, and not ruled by God, there could be cases where we must disobey.

The Bible does not have authority over the Supreme Court. But God does have authority of Christians.

Christians reside in their own nations, but as resident aliens. They participate in all things as citizens and endure all things as foreigners. They obey the established laws and their way of life surpasses the laws.

The citizen is obliged in conscience not to follow the directives of civil authorities when they are contrary to the demands of the moral order, to the fundamental rights of persons or the teachings of the Gospel.

We must obey God rather than men. (Acts 5:29)

With love in Christ.

No, the word of God- says to obey the laws of the land. The Supreme Court and it's rulings or laws are the "laws of the land".

You really need to read your Bibl Jesus answered this question 2,000 yrs ago in Mark 12:17 "Jesus then said pay back Caesars things to Caesar but Gods things to God " we obey the laws of the land as long as those laws do not conflict with Gods laws if they do our ultimate authority is gods laws as there is no higher power or source an example you have to pay your taxes but if they told you you couldnt pray to God or worship him thenyou do what God says as trhey have not authority to tell you to violate Gods laws do you get the point Jesus was making Gorbalizer

The supreme court deals with only ONE document

The US Constitution. They have to follow it no matter what its flaws or virtues may be. No matter what the Bible says. That is the foundation of our legal system.
