If you want to lose fat of your stomach then just ab exercises won't do it for you. For a flat tummy, your overall body fat needs to be very low.
Weight training can be a very good way to lose fat quickly. You may start with smaller weights.Running can also be very effective in losing weight. When we run, fat from all over our body is burned.
Diet plays an important role. Dieting doesn't mean that you stop eating or starve yourself. It means that you cut out the fatty foods like sweets, oils, etc. and start eating healthy foods like fruits and vegetables, meat is also required to a certain extent.
Last but not the least, you have to be patient about your progress.Sometimes people want results too quickly, too soon and hence get frustrated. So stick to your routine at least for a couple of months and you will surely get good results.

I have a very nice figure but because I have had 3 kids sometimes my tummy isnt as flat as I want it to be. I have found that sit ups and ad exercises do work, but only to tone the muscles. I can see a six pack, but behind fat. It wasn't until I started doing cardio work along with the ab exercises that I really saw a difference. No I didn't see a difference, everyone else did and told me. I seemed as if my butt got bigger, but actually everything got toned and in shape. Since I live upstairs, I started just going up and down the stairs to tone my legs, but learned it was a great cardio work out and enjoyed it. After about only 1 month I started getting lots of compliments.

Not really but they will help other areas. Buy a gym ball, they are only cheap but you can do every exercises needed to tone your tummy. Do 4 sets of 25 to start everyday and the same for any other exercise on the ball and then add more when you feel happy with that. In no time you will feel your abbs, good luck

sit ups are the best way to tone a tummy but the trouble is that your body is a unit and just exercising one area will not give you the results you want. i agree about the " fad exercise routines" it seems just about every soap star or singer is bringing one out but they do all tend to be based on sound physiological principal. most local gyms will give you a basic induction course and advice on decent exercises. there are over 20 exercises you can do just to tone up tums for variety. i reccomend if you do choose home exercise to use mr motivator or similar as these are fitness experts and not stars told what to say by one

Despite what a lot of people say, you CANNOT lose weight from a specific spot on your body. Each of us store fat in a slightly different way. When you lose fat, you lose it from all over your body and the genetics decide, not you.

The best thing is as always, eat less and exercise more. While a balanced diet and a balanced exercise program (including abdominal exercises) may sound boring, it is indeed the only way to effectively 'tone your tummy'.

One more thing: be patient! Slowly decrease your caloric intake and slowly substitute healthier foods. Slowly increase your exercise level and the rest will take care of itself.

Always have vegetables on hand. Saute a big bag regarding frozen mixed vegetables in organic olive oil and garlic. Add some red pepper or even turmeric for additional flavor and separate into portion-sized containers to the fridge.

Hehe-I've always been working on my abs...trying to see if I wanna tone it up a notch or not.

I'd try lots of things like:

Bellydancing...curl ups, sit ups...this move called the "Bicycle"<-I heard this one is a real ab burner, heck-I tried it and it works.

Here's a good lil site from the experts themselves.

Do 40 sit ups a day. Elbow to knee. Alternating sides. I tried it and my abs looked great after 2 weeks!

Distracted dining can get you in trouble. Avoid eating before a television or in a movie theater, as you're bound to consume more calories.
