have you ever thought about it and is anyone here who is a little more broadminded and tolerant and actually believes that this is not always the wrong way. i'm not considering doing this, i'd just like to hear your thoughts. and if anyone who is being suicidal's reading this, please stop. i don't want to be a negative influence and remember you are always responsible for your own actions

thanks

Whenever I answer a question like this, I'm deeply aware that someone may be reading this who is seriously contemplating suicide—and I would do everything in my power to convince them not to take that final, drastic step. With Christ there is always hope.

God loves them; He loves them so much that Jesus Christ was willing to die on the cross for their salvation. And others care about them, as well (even if they have a hard time believing it). Suicide is never God's will, and even in the midst of life's worst storms we can look to Christ and discover that He truly is "an anchor for the soul, firm and secure" (Hebrews 6:19). The first step back from the brink of suicide is to turn to Christ and open our hearts to Him.

Suicide is always a tragedy—but in itself it is not the unpardonable sin. The only sin God cannot pardon is the sin of rejecting Him.
At the same time, ask God to help you be sensitive to the needs of others—especially someone who may be facing discouragement or depression. Often simply knowing that someone cares will help them turn the corner.

Everyone thinks about it at one time or another. Get it over with, go on. I think the main thing that stops us from doing just this is the unknown. Nobody wants to end it all if this is all they have. When you come right down to it people fear the unknown and what if there really is a hell? You could be going to a worse place than what you already have. Only those who no longer fear death or are in a circumstance that that think couldn't be any worse really try.

My opinion:

No matter what, your life is precious and shouldn't be wasted, if you feel suicidal, remember there is always hope of improvement whilst you are alive.

However, there could be many exceptions. For example if you are terminally ill and in great pain then I see nothing wrong with ending it quickly and calmly. Also, I believe that to sacrifice yourself to save other lives is a noble act and requires the greatest courage.

Since you're asking under the heading of "Religion and Spirituality", that's the answer I'll give you.

The Judeo-Christian teaching is that man (i.e. humans, not just men) is created by God in His image; and further that God knows each of us individually, even before birth (Psalm 139:15,16). This makes us special in God's eyes. This notion of special creation is what makes suicide so abhorrent to the Judeo-Christian ethic - the idea that, if God believes we are special and precious to Him, then who are we to tell Him otherwise?

Suicide is always the wrong way
First of all the commandments say 'Thou shalt no kill." it doesn't say "Thou shalt not kill someone else."
Jesus said He will always give you a way out and if you believe in sucide then you don't trust Him to give you that way or you just dont' want to take it.
Even legally, if you attempt suicide and fail then you go to jail for attempted murder. If it wasn't wrong it wouldn't be illegal.

life is a very precious thing becuz we live by it and to it... if life wasn't that precious people wouldn't have selfishness! there are some sacrifices given in situations where life is endangered but usu. we do whatever suitable to save ourselves.
if life wasn't that precious we wouldn't have done outragous things to survive [in all kinda situations]
Suicide comes in the wrong moment and happens by a slip [it doesn't happen usually for people who have good faith...]

I tried it and thankfully failed and now I am 100% against suicide. It causes too much grief and pain to your friends and family-it must never be considered an option.
