I am a bartender and I make these all the time! Follow the recipe on the box. When its time to pour the cold water into the mixture.... substitute half of the water with vodka, rum or tequila and then add ice cubes to help chill it! Be creative with your concoctions! Use tequila with lime jello for Margarita Jello shots. Use vodka with lemon jello for Lemondrops. Use flavored Rum with a fruitpunch jello for RumRunner shots. Pour into plastic soufle cups with lids ( restaurant supply store) and stack in the freezer for 2 hours and then move to the refridgerator. Awesome party shots!!

BASIC JELLO SHOT MAKING DIRECTION
Ingredients & Methods:
6 ounces of spirits
6 ounces water
3 ounces Jello (small box, any flavor)
3 ounce Dixie PAPER Cups
Pour the water and vodka into a saucepan and raise it to a boil.
Stir in the jello and make sure it totally dissolves.
Put the jello liquid into a pitcher for easier pouring.
You'll need to pour the jello into the small Dixie cups.
If you let the jello sit in the refrigerator in one big bowl then the vodka will separate and you'll have some crappy shooters. (Use the little cups!)
Let them chill in the refrigerator for about 5-6 hours
Use paper cups, you can tear them open to get the Jello
Watch the Jello liquid carefully, it boils over fast
Make sure you have lots of space in the refrigerator
Allow plenty of time, it takes awhile
Speed things up by doubling quantities: 12 oz vodka, 12 oz water, 2 small boxes of Jello (or 1 large box)
To give you an idea of quantities, this is how much we used:
20 small Jello boxes (3 ounces/each)
2 handles of vodka (half gallon/each)
400 Dixie Paper Cups (3 ounce size)
6 small Jello boxes (3 ounces/each)
1 liter of vodka
84 Dixie Paper Cups (3 ounce size)
